Is there a way to passively gain emeralds?

I was just wondering 'cause I want to still earn some money while doing school work.
Please don't suggest AFK farming I know that it's bannable.

I put a bunch of items/ingredients on the trade market and set a good price for them, and usually some of them would sell after a few hours or when I wake up the next day

I've been kind of doing that but with random pieces of gear I have in my bank, though usually they sell very slowly...
