Is Lament Bad? (as A Mythic, Not As A Wand)

Lament is far from bad. It's capable of hitting very high damage totals with its spells, the high mana steal practically makes mana regen unnecessary in combat scenarios, and the high water damage essentially invalidates the negative life steal by giving you such a powerful, low-cost heal. It's great for acting as both a damaging and support-acting wand for parties.

Trick is I've noticed a lot of people using spell items seem to forget that they're capable of left-clicking without trying to cast spells.

let's say in a country that's having an election, you're seeing who (between 2 candidates) is more popular, so you have a poll. the voters will and should discuss with each other which candidate is better

how so?
-its meteors out damage monster, old singu, not quite fatal (lament has higher dps because mana and powder specials), pure, i don't know what warp does in terms of damage but it definitely has higher dps, gaia is hard to compare, every legendary except glassy thunder hive wand
-far more mana than all the other aforementioned wands
-5k heals compared to, like, 3k heals on things like fatal

 

its a good wand, but its not as good as other water mythics (even some other mythics)

 

10k meteor wouldnt say so if you are trying Mana steal wich is basically denied by the lifesteal you need to heal
and to heal you use time and MANA so you are losing mana and time for meteors


Out damages monster? theres a reason why is monster cheaper but still will win in a 1v1 duel because lament cant touch it

alright, now, a couple of things
-you have to melee in order to charge curse anyway
-you have -300 lifesteal, but you also have so much mana (14/4ms, 1/4mr, 129int) that casting a heal here and there doesn't hurt your overall dps at all

14/4 MANA STEAL

let's say you're fighting cybel

oh, i'm out of mana, here's what happens:

left click onto a bunch of disintegrators

gain 14 mana

lose 250 hp

heal, uses 2 mana

now you have 12/4 mana + 129 int to do whatever tf you want

 

1. You just did respond to it.
2. Pure is indeed good but that isn't at all related to the discussion at hand.
3. You only say lament is bad because you're mana regen happy. You ignore everything else outside of mr because you refuse to accept mana steal in this scenario is much better than mana regen.

lament has, on average, -300 lifesteal

Where in hell did you read 1k hp.
It's 10k.
Also it has -210/4s ls.
Which is the equivalent of ~1/8th of what one singular pulse from heal can do.

I used pure for a decent amount of time and it was perfectly fine at it's level. Is it worth buying at that level on the other hand not really, as ethereal is also very good and much cheaper as an option at that level. Now stop talking about pure and actually focus on the discussion at hand.

something extra on lament since you like to ignore everything that you can't argue against

-300 lifesteal (let's just say)
10k hp

you'd need to proc lifesteal 30 times in order to lose that much mana

mana steal has 37.5% chance of proccing i believe

you would need to hit 80 mobs to lose 9000 hp with lament, not to mention items can counter the lifesteal quite easily (you can throw drain into quite a few builds while retaining damage or usability)

don't bring up the same points that have already been countered (lifesteal, comparison vs other mythics wands)
