The point is that just because two things are similar does not mean they're related. In this case, even more so, as the two different elements have plenty of differences.

The decay didn't always exist in Gavel, even if it was insignificantly small as you assume. It's directly stated the decay first appeared 1000 yrs ago, which is right around the time the villagers got greedy. While I do agree with you that the mobs in Gavel are supposed to be fantasy-based, a decent chunk of them are caused by the decay, such as in Olux swamp and in the Kander forest. This is confirmed by Aldoreis Secret Part II and by a few NPCs in Olux. Even if you don't consider that aspect, demons are still demons and haven't appeared anywhere else except for places associated with the realm of darkness or Dern. So the fact that there were at least demons in Molten Heights shows there might be a connection. For the setting of both places, although it's not confirmed yet, it's entirely possibly Molten Heights was affected by the decay because half of Gavel, the sky islands, and the Canyon of the lost were affected, so it's not entirely far fetched that Molten Heights was affected.

 

They wrote "is" instead of "was" so it is sufficient.

Yes, there are decay-based mobs; in areas that have been affected by the decay. Those areas all show signs of such; molten heights does not. I don't recall the Sky Islands or Canyon of the Lost being affected by the Decay, but if you can find evidence I'll accept the possibility.

To end, I'm going to point you towards Occam's razor. TL;DR, "Among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected." You've provided very little real evidence towards the demons being related in anything but name.

True, though mountains don't really erupt for millennia at a time, and lava doesn't stay lava for that long either. We can't really assume that they're talking about molten heights, as it's not like those are the only mountains in Gavel.

ganon, you must be kidding. No magic? In Wynncraft? EVERY mountain that is erupting lave, is erupting it continuously. It's either magic, or the fastest reservoir cycling in the known universe.
