SPOILER Is Amadel Really That Easy?

I want some Wynn Excavation content in Gavel if this gets reworked

 

honestly i don't

part of the charm of this questline to me is that it doesn't really involve any of the typical stuff- the decay, the corruption, lari, orphion. rather, it was alluding to the eye and had its own things. i feel like bringing it to gavel would change this

 

Amadel isn't even hard even in 3 years ago tho

 

As an archer in 1.20 with an elemental weapon against Amadel who has all elemental defenses, it took 10+ minutes but was easy, i was definitely underwhelmed. Expecting a rework soon but i personally hope they keep some of the old-Wynncraft charm and don't change completely everything

 

I meant like, because Wynn Excavation originates from gavel, so a secret discovery or two would be fine. I know one exists now but it's...lackluster. It just feels weird going to gavel and seeing almost nothing about them

Even as the #1 WynnExcavation fan and as someone who always looks forward to playing these quests on new classes I think the quests need a rework.

These quests were the shit way back in the day. The premise was (and still is) pretty dope, the gameplay was fun, and not to mention the fact that the questline takes place over like 35 levels so it feels like WynnExcavation was a recurring threat of the course of a good chunk of the game. And by the time you beat it, it felt like you had "made it" in Wynn, like you were an actual hero.

Unfortunately the days of endless fetchquests and sweet sweet old time WynnEx are passed, and the questline has definitely not aged well, lore wise or gameplay wise.

I also have always found it weird that the King of Ragni says that he's "willing to bet we haven't seen the last of them" after site D and we never see them again lol.

 

IIRC they are mentioned (as "Gavel Excavation") in one of the Gylia Plains secret discoveries, but that's about it

 

they funded ynnos in one thousand meters under, but that quest isnt really related to the questline in any other way

 

To be honest he was always easy

 

He was harder when he didn't have 3 phases and was always in wither form, I considered it harder than CoW back then

 

It has a section though explaining what corruption actually is by saying it’s a clash between light and dark. I agree, however, that they shouldn’t be directly tied to Lari and the Decay and stuff. Imo, a quest about them in Gavel should revolve around how they control the government and conspiracy theories. Even after 2.0, we still don’t directly interact with the government of the Villagers like we do with Corkus and Wynn. So it would be a nice way to explore another aspect of the Villagers so to speak.

 

Yeah he really sucks as a boss
The only time i took meaningful damage fighting him at the level the quest was unlocked at was when he lagged out my computer with particles, and even then it took like one heal to get me back to full health
His main abilities seem to be tanking and getting stuck so you have to redo him

 

he deserves a buff
his first phase is a complete joke
his second one is just garbage
and his third one.... the first part is just wait 20 seconds and then he flies across the arena, and the second part is just straight-up punching bag
