    YES! 1.19 IS OUT!!!

First and foremost, thanks to the team for creating another wonderful update.

In the first couple of hours, I have some simple suggestions regarding the new item pouch.

    1) The item pouch needs to recognized and pick up ingredients even when your inventory is full. If it's
possible to make ingredients be recognized as in your inventory through the pouch that would be fantastic.
Maybe have a set inventory spot that always reads as "empty." No idea though, I have no technical knowledge
on that or if that is even possible.

    2) Ingredients from chests should automatically go from your inventory to the pouch if shift clicking if the auto-
pickup setting is enabled. Small issue comparative to the one above, but a nice quality of life touch.

I'm sure these changes will be applied soon, as they seem like something that would be an obvious edition.
I'll leave a poll for engagement to see if somehow it's just me. xP

*EDIT* You can left click items in chests to automatically put them in the pouch. But shift clicking does not work the same way, it throws them in your inventory.

For the first one, the way items in Minecraft work wouldn't allow for it. The pouch only moves items from your inventory into it, so there's no way to make it work well without requiring an open slot. It's just not really possible.

The reason why shift clicking doesn't place into the pouch is because they want a way to place stuff in your inventory. A toggle to switch between shift and regular left click might be nice but I would rather the devs not waste their time on mostly pointless features.

I’m not sure if the first feature is possible, but I would like it if there is something that says “left click the ingredient to automatically put it in the pouch” when you move your cursor to the pouch, I never know that you were able to do it in the first place.
I don’t mind it being left click, I think it makes sense since shift-click is a faster way to put it in the inventory instead of left click.

Yeah, I definitely think the current scheme is the best option. After all, shift-click is already the standard way to place an item into your inventory.

I found the best way with getting ingredients in there quickly from a chest is to just throw them off to the side and it automatically goes into your pouch (assuming your inventory is not full). But it would be a nice quality of life improvement

Yeah that's pretty much what I was thinking for lootrunning especially, and what would really be nice is if items dropped on ground after closing chest, but despawned quickly to prevent lag
