Improved Imps

Emerald Imps are rarely spawning monsters that drop about a dozen emeralds - no matter where they're found. Though slaying one of these imps can be both challenging and rewarding for newer players, Emerald Imps simply aren't relevant in the later levels, especially when they can be found areas such as Troms. The idea of having a rarely spawning mob that rewards the player for finding it is great, but there's a lot of missed potential here.

Imps should scale with the areas they're found in, and different kinds of imps of varying rarities should spawn throughout the world. These imps could range from Loot Imps, which drop varying rarities of equipment, to Experience Imps, providing players with a small boost to their grinding. Imps could even give the player personalized double exp or item drop rate for a short amount of time when slain. This way, all players can appreciate finding an Imp.

 

they're not relevant in later levels because later mobs drop more loot and emeralds?

 

I came here ready to defend my guild.

I think they are used as an easter egg of sorts, the mob runs away from you and if you catch it you get a reward.
Later in the game you don't have time to play catch with little friendly monsters.

 

Volt goats and golden cows?

 

The emerald imps that survive evolve to golden cows.
