    IN-GAME NEWS BROADCASTS
How many people have seen the amount of Github "I LOST MY ITEMS SOMEONE GO GAMEMODE THEM BACK FOR ME!!!"
Due to that fact that many people that play on Wynncraft do not have a forums account or if they do they do not use it very often, Only when they are searching up the trade market.
Some of you may have seen the "Special Warning" on the forums and if you haven't this is my point. That special warning is telling people that they may lose some high level end gear due to nerfing of items and then them popping out of your inventory due to lack of space.
How many people have seen the amount of Github "I LOST MY ITEMS SOMEONE GO GAME MODE THEM BACK FOR ME!!!"
Once you have seen them all you will understand
How many people are going to lose a valuable piece of gear with this nerf???
What about future updates?? Do they have to miss out because they don't check forums 24/7 like me??

No one has to lose their items if we have simple BroadCast Messages like the ones we get when we log in. If you use the resource pack you get a message that says something along the lines of ...
"Thank you for choosing to use the Wynnpack today, have a great time"
This would be a message or two (depending on how many important updates were soon to come)

IMPORTANT NEWS-ITEM LOSS MAY OCCUR DUE TO ITEM NERF Please click this link https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/special-warning.183776/ as Wynncraft has a NO REFUND POLICY so follow the steps provided in the link to save your precious item from vanishing forever

MAKE THE [INFO] BOX USEFUL AGAIN! :O
As Suggested by @memthyl an [Info] icon that looks like a question mark can be hovered over and clicked on to show more information about future updates
This would add another manual way that players can check for future updates In-Game.
By hovering over the icon a small bar appears (like when you hover over your head and your ID stats appear)
Inside this bar would be Large update names and if you clicked on this Icon a screen (similar to the credits screen) would appear with a more in depth article on each Update (still brief as to not take up to much space) and a link to the forum post where they can get all the information.

    Fruma Update! Coming soon
Guilds are on their way back! #Jumlaplzfamibeg
    ITEM NERF = DISSAPEARING ITEMS!!!

The Wynncraft Content Team (CT) has just announced that the Province of Fruma where you were born is going to be explorable for all players [Click Here to read more about your Birth place]
Jumla and Content team are working extremely hard to re-write the Guild coding and guilds should be back in the game without to many bugs #Soon [Click Here to Keep up to date on Guild progress and recruitments]
Due to a few items being slightly over powered the Content Team has decided to Nerf a list of items by increasing their needed skill points. Some items may disappear if there is not enough space in your inventory [Click Here to see list of Items with Nerfs inbound + How to not lose your items!]
[IMG] That is what comes up when you click 'News' when using the WynnCraft Enhanced modpack. Those links are clickable and take you to their website

sounds like a good idea to me

add it to the [Info] thing that nobody pays attention to, so it's actually useful for once
instead of the dead subreddit, mention of purchasing "gold coins" even though those have been gone since the gameplay update, and more outdated/useless info

Why not just solve the problem at its code and make it so items don't unequip but instead just don't give you stats? No more mysterious item loss ever, only 2 lines of code

Well, let's see, you have to check item requirements and player stats, then just instead of unequiping item, you just don't proceed to count the item stats. That seems very simple unless i'm missing something important

    1. Computers are dumb
    2. If you've ever tried coding, you'd understand WHY it's a lot more complex than just that.
    3. Even if I'm wrong, I believe a Dev Has said that to fix this it would be a big change
    4. If it was that simple, and such a big bug, don't you think someone would've fixed it by now.

4 is the reason i think i'm wrong, but i just wanted a dev to say that it's more complicated than i think so i can be at ease lol. I just can't seem to find a reason why it could be more complicated than i think. Guess i can only know if i look at the code..

Btw, do you have a post where the dev said it's a big change?

As I said, computer are dumb. I only have a minute experience with coding, and never seen Wynn code, but I'd say the skill points req is on a lot of places, and changing that would be difficult without causing other bugs. Idk the post, but this has been suggested before, and the Ct is trying to fix it

Yeah that's what i thought too, it sucks then, especially if the dev working on the code now wasn't the one who wrote it at first xD

I like the concept, and like you said, I think it can also be used to announce any future major updates.

My own example: The Fruma expansion update has been announced! [Click here to find out more about Fruma!]

Do you mean When you click the compass on the left?
I think it would also be good if you could click the [Info] Button and another 'Page' appeared that had more information then showed with the normal Broadcast updates. The only reason the [Info] wouldnt be the only info source is because more people look on the forums then that [Info] button bt having more info there would be good ill update my thread when i get home to implement ur idea :P

It's a whole lot more than two lines of code.

You'll need a few lines of code to search for the hidden scoreboards for each of your stats.
A few lines of code to compare your stats and the item requirements.
A few lines of code to search for the scoreboard for your item.
A whole bunch of lines of code to create the function that negates the ids and stats on your items.
And there's probably something I'm forgetting.

Java has a syntax and a language all its own, all code does.
You can't just type, "Don't take off armor piece, just make armor piece not work."

if you've ever played tf2 or any other currently valve-supported Source game then you know they do this kind of thing
    like a "system message"

basically like this, on the side of your screen
    [IMG]

it's incredibly useful and I'd like to see it implemented in the scoreboard that's no longer used for missions
that way people with chat turned off can still see this thing
these appear whenever the staff decides to send them out, if someone isn't on when it's sent out it's stored and plays a few minutes after they've gotten on the server
they should also appear in lobbies and not just the main game

also an alert-esque sound effect that plays whenever the thing pops up would be super nice
it should be distinct from the rest of the sounds in the game so nobody gets confused

so basically make it way more noticeable to players than what you and memethyl have suggested

Another few lines to make it easy to identify that that armour piece isn't working (most likely with a not working tag)
Then when you have written all these lines... it probably doesn't work and the item just disappears even though there is inv. room :P
    ________________________________
So you are are suggesting using the area that missions used to go?? only problem with that is that the area you are suggesting is very small (cant fit much info or if you do it intrudes onto your screen to much) and you can't add clickable links...

I'm pretty sure the chat is way less noticeable than the scoreboard. The scoreboard just pops up like that, and it's very hard NOT to notice a giant grey rectangle just suddenly appear to the left of your screen.
The scoreboard is very much expandable and could fit a short enough message for a reader.
Something like "See chat for links" could work if we have both the message appear on the scoreboard and the chat.

I get what you mean. You go grinding for a bit of time and get a full inv. or rares and Legedaries and you just don't pay attention to the chat, someone could have screamed in Caps that they were about to nuke your irl country and you wouldn't notice. so you are like "Oh Fuck! I might have missed a few update messages, No problem thoguh because i can just hover over and then click on the [Info] box.
I don't think we really need 3 ways of telling people In-game that they have future updates but i do like the idea of a special sound. Personally think it should be that odl voice mail sound that literally says "You've got mail"
