What's something that you find annoying in a quest that you'd change if you could?
mobility spells flying over triggers for quests
I'd change Pepo to make it not a nerd
Aledar is drinking too much pots and eventually dead
Make Aledar suffer with side effect - Hair loss
The parcore in A Hunter's Calling during the almuj part.
I will come up with something more related to an actually quest later, but legit, name one person who was able to actually do the parcore, tf.
I'm removing your NPC to make the game better.
He has a wig, he can't look bad in all those Ajb tutorial videos.
For king’s recuit, MORE COMBAT.
Delete Canyon Guides. Get rid of it. Throw it in the garbage. Light it on fire and do a little dance on it. Worst quest, no contest. It's like Fantastic Voyage except worse in every way. Make it some quest where you need to clear timed puzzles or fight through mobs on a timer while moving through caves or something.
It could be a fun timed challenge instead of trying to not spin, uppercut or whatever a man less useful than Aledar inside a cart while losing the way to the just too cleverly hidden Bantisu temple. Please, if you're going to rework some Gavel stuff- start here.
aledar's net worth is 8 le, kinda poor despite being a hero
Oh shit, I forgot.
Remove King's Recruit.
Ok, actually though, redo King's Recruit.
1. Make it reflect the actual game
2. Teach players the basic gameplay loop, and mechanics, like Ideintfing, combat, adventuring, and looting.
Unskippable cutscenes and dialogue. Yeah, they can look quite cool the first time around, but when levelling through the game by the 4th or 5th time they just become exhausting to sit through and when added up they take out a lot of time that can be spent grinding or dungeon running. Please there needs to be a way to skip them or at the very least have an option to speed them up.
make a better king's recruit or just idk
justttt make a better king's recruit lmao.
just star thief
EDIT: ok actual changes time
- make the agent appear inside the cave, at the meteor. also make them an actual character
- make the cave more fun. its just kinda... eh right now
- remove the boss fight at the end and replace it with a fakeout
get rid of any forced, unskippable dialog
at LEAST add a text speed option like pokemon. or 90% of games
I just want half of ToL removed or revamped/changed lol. Boring and long fetch quest, just not a fun quest until the boss.
It feels.. intentional? Well yes The Ultimate Weapon is the fetch quest parody, ToL feels like the "Legendary" parody, something that hypes up the player only to smack its face unsatisfyingly, chances are its just bad quest making and not intentional, and PLEASE get @Novalescent 's remake of CoW and Bob into the game, the two boss fights are some of the biggest and hardest but are very outdated.
thats what the emerald trail is for
the "tutorial" only ends once you emerge from nivla on the detlas side
Rework the parkour in the Almuj section of AHC into something easier
The emerald trail may kind of teach you the basics of gameplay.
At the very least, it attempts to.
However saying the emerald trail does it, doesn't really solve any of the issues people have with the tutorial.
Tutorials are meant to convey what the rest of the experience is like for the player, giving them an almost sample of the game as a whole.
The current tutorial not only fails at this, but it also tricks newer players in expecting a different gameplay loop.
The number of times I've seen someone be level 14 and still not know what identifying is, has kind of been somewhat funny.
It teaches them that crafting and gathering will be the main way to obtain loot, and never address anything outside of that beyond some combat.
The emerald trail shouldn't teach you the core gameplay loop, the tutorial shouldn't teach you crafting.
If anything, it should be the other way around. If you truly think there isn't an issue with the current tutorial, then explain the almost constant complaints people have on it.
I made a more in-depth comment on this on another thread, so I'm just going to post a picture here.
(I know for a fact this is going to happen, so I'm just going to say it here. No, I do not want you to teach every system in the game during the tutorial. I want it to teach the BASIC gameplay loop. The current tutorial may even teach to much, sadly, it teaches the wrong thing.)
