Do you want these to be mapped into Wynncraft?

  1. I love both of these to exist in Wynncraft

  2. I only love the underwater one

  3. i only love the underground one

  4. Neither

I am so astonished by the great diversity and scale of the landscape and atmosphere in different places throughout the Wynncraft map. I think the mappers are brilliant and creative especially in the Gavel update. There are sand land, snow land, lava land, mushroom land, and even a sky land :D

Just to keep this flow going on :) Here is what's could be possible next, if you consider making a new one without repeating the design used in old cities.

    Underwater City

First, an underwater city, I don't mean a tiny village just for squid, but something inspired by this where villagers actually live:

It is just spectacular, isn't it?
The architecture inside the place could be inspired by that of Rymek ( sandstone cottage is beautiful).
Or, looking like Llvigar, making of Quartz.
Or, anything else you think that would be majestic :)

So, why waste the empty space of the big ocean in the middle of the map?
It is so big and empty.
Let's make use of even the underwater part of it.

Also, in the wiki page, I found underwater route is just a sand route with no purpose.
Maybe adding such city can give the underwater route some meaningful story?

    Underground city

On the other hand, speaking of a city out of our sight, it could also be a dystopian one, a underground city.

I believe most of you know Coruscant, the over populated city in Star Wars movie.

There is also a game that didn't released called "Star Wars 1313: Descent to the Underworld", suggesting a place called Underworld.

    If you haven't, see this:

Of course, to fit the game, we must make it much smaller comparing to the Coruscant's one and replace all the sci-fi architecture with Wynncraft architecture.

The underground city is lighted up only by candle / artificial light. It is dark and spooky.
It is densely packed with housing interleaved with very dark and narrow allies,
living with the very poor villagers.
The city is not without his danger. Consider a lot of illegal activities, gangs and strange creatures hanging around the places.

(PS: I have acknowledged that there exists Thanos, Rodoroc, Godovi ,
but I would like to see one that is more corrupted and spooky perhaps in the Dern
which is 100% truly hidden under the ground, so you won't notice it easily.
That means the rooftop is 100% covered with minimum lights going in,
with much more depth, spookiness and weirdness of a densely populated ancient cities beneath the ground.)

    What could be the story?

Why does it exist? Why do they stay underwater or underground?
Are the villagers here being alienated, punished or disdained by the upper classes?
Or, are they just protecting themselves from some threats or natural disasters?
Or, does this simply benefit their sustainability?
Is the gate between the ground and underground locked with some mystical magic?

This is all up to you. If you have an idea, leave in the comments.

How could it be fitted into the game?

Make use of the useful spare space under the ground or sea-level.
For both the underwater and underground setting, there is a shortage of sunlight.
Therefore, the atmosphere would be rather dark and spooky.

Such atmosphere are the best for the mapper to hide more Easter eggs easily, inside the underwater cave, etc,
and adding more thrills when players try to dig deeper and deeper the mysteries beneath the world.
It would also be a great place for a variety of mobs to spawn.

Would this be a city in Dern? I don't know.

This thread is just meant to share a mapping concept, or I would say, an plausible concept for one or two of the future cities.

I haven't thought about how and where these two settings can be placed in the game.
Because, a lot of you are more familiar with the Wynncraft world than I do.

Therefore, I would leave the actual detail to you! Leave your ideas if you have one.

First, we already have three literally underground cities: Thanos, Rodoroc, and Dogovi.

However, perhaps Fruma could use some dense buildings.
And some ocean expansion could use a truly underwater city, not an underwater ruin-cave like Sarnfic.

As stated above, we already have 3 citys that are situated underground.

As for water, we have that too. Sarnfic from the "Underwater" quest, however it can be debatable as being a city mainly cause it was a city that was sunk because of some boots.

But we are getting an expansion to the ocean once Corkus is released so, there could be possibilities

You're right. I am not going to say it is a good idea to put them all inside the Gavel.
I mean they could be great in the next or next next update, like Dern :)

I would like to see one that is more corrupted and spooky than those 3 cities,
which is 100% truly hidden under the ground, rooftop is 100% covered
with much more depth, scale and weirdness of a well populated ancient cities beneath the ground.

If the city is totally covered, how would people enter?
But like I said, according to Fruma's lore, it could use a very dense, maybe underground city with very narrow walkways and people could get lost in it.

By "covered", I just mean it is entirely covered from sunlight, Players may get down from a secret tower basement passageways, etc.

In general, the underground city idea can be an inspiration from this:
