Ice Snake rework

    So currently Ice snake is kinda weird because is the only hability that remains almost the same in each arquetype for mage so i suggest the idea of reworking it, while also taking advantage of the new models.

    First of all lets change ice snake, from a bunch of blocks to an entity using a new model, the entity would have hp (starting at 500 hp and would gradually lose 50hp per block traveled and would last max of 3 seconds)

    Now, the changes of the tree

    First off, the ice snake would only change the "Fast-moving" snake to "slow-moving" since is a ice snake it would make sense that it goes slow.


    next thing Arcanist nodes related to ice snake: Sentient snake will remain the same

    Freezing sigil: would suggest that the color palette change a little bit for freezing sigil, maybe a lighter color so allies can see which mage can give them the buff, since the snake is slower, then the sigil will stay more time with allies but will no longer give knockback resistance and would only need one skill point (also locks lava snake and)

    Slowing: 1 second
    Damage: 40 % of your spell dmg (not your dps)
    20% neutral/10% air/10% water each second (now it would do dmg instead of knockback)

    Artic Snake would change duration, from 2 s to 1 second

    Now, for central nodes or nodes that are more in the "lighbender branch" i wouldn't change snake nest

    now, for the real change, Rift walker, i would change this node node of 1 point for one called Lava Snake upload_2024-11-29_2-51-25.png

    Lava snake would change the elemental type of ice snake, meaning it would no longer do water dmg instead it would do Fire and Earth dmg (70% neutral, 30% fire and 5% earth) (his color palette also would change) and would give also the knockback inmunity to this node (which would cost 2 points instead of 1), also this would lock freezing sigil

    Next change would be Gust: gust will change his name to snake bite, it will no longer give winded and would change places with explosive entrance

    Snake bite: When your snake despawn, it will deal damage to enemies in a radius of 3 blocks dealing his positive effect to nearby allies (knockback resistance if you choose lava snake) and negative status to enemies (winded if you have winded unlocked and slowness if you choose ice sigil) (would't count as riftwalker node)

    damage: 50% of your dps
    Neutral dmg: 30%
    Air damage:10%
    Earth damage: 10%

    New node (rift walker- below devitalize) 1 point
    Burning life: your snake would last half/lose twice the hp (travel faster and if you have unlocked snake bite will make the bite quickly)


    Aspect of the ray frost would change to "Aspect of the Everlasting reptile", instead of making the snake bigger, it would make bigger the sigil (lava or ice sigil) by 25/50/75/100%


    this is just a concept, it could be developed further so you could consider more stuff, for now i don't have a model but i have this sketch

    teleport has explosive entrance and blink, and even if with that, is the movement spell so it doesn't need that much variations.

    Ice snake has sentient snake, snake nest (and cone of cold) and the winded modifiers

    cool, which one of those change the model or the usage of ice snake like meteor/Ophanim?

    It has a few modifiers but they're all for riftwalker with the exception of explosive entrance (which is in the riftwalker/lightbender part of the tree)

    gust makes it the only alternative method of getting winded on enemies, other abilities improve it's CC or AOE.
    Ophanim is a core ability of an archetype, thats a misleading comparison
