It took me a few minutes to get one. They sort of pop through the ground.

 

Throw the key in the hopper with the red X on the other side, then stand on the pressure plate until it disappears.

 

Perhaps go in the houst west of the white meteor, it has a button down a little stairs, the stair doesnt lead to a room or something, perhaps try at at day time?

 

Well, I'm sitting in the mechanical key room. It appears they trigger off the minecarts, as I've been here for a good while, hopped servers a couple times, and only the first spawned

near the red and brown (red and brown mushrooms) watches the blue( yahya watches the lake) it all leads to yahyas house try throwing it in his hopper

 

We did, didn't seem to do anything. We'll be trying again.

 

Update, it appears to not be linked to the large meteor.

My best guess would be to throw it in the hopper at Yahya's place together with:
2 NBT tag Talking Mushroom and Black Spoon
or
Strange Mushroom and Black Spoon

Edit: during daytime

 

Someone have try to see if the Strange shroom have not a NBT tag problem too ?

 

and under the yellow means under the sun and yahya is outside

 

This might be what we needed to get farther .o.
