I Don't Understand How Works The Element Damages !

Hi,
I'm new on the game, and I received a dagger with only elements damages. It has 1-24 damages for the 5 elements. But I don't understand something: the damages stack together ?
Like for exemple, if my weapon has 20-30 neutral damages and 10-20 fire damages, the total damages are 30-50 ?
I searched on the wiki but I haven"t been able to find the information. Thank you ! :)

 

Yes, for example, if you have a weapon that does 50-100 neutral and 50-100 fire, the weapon’s total damage would be 100-200

elemental damage can be both a buff and a debuff, like some mobs have ele def to some eles that make weapons of that ele suck, while some others have weakness which can be abused to obliterate them.(theres also like a set amount of how weak and how strong, some mobs say they have a def but they basically take the same dmg, while some just casually reduces like 90% of the damage)

 

Having good neutral damage/ good damage for several elements is good because bossfights become a lot harder if they have defence to the one element you specialise in
