Spoilers! Massive Fruma and The Hunger Games series spoilers! Do not read further if you don't want to be spoiled! I only used spoiler tags for direct secret discovery references (and I might've missed a few).

I had previously written a 1500 word post on this. I realized that was a bit long... So I cut a lot from the original, and I'm instead asking you all to come up with some more examples to make for lively discussion. Also, I appreciate these references & similarities! I mean, the genres are super similar. There should probably be similarities.

Here is 1 direct reference to The Hunger Games I found:
    - Nightlock necklace: lvl 115 necklace. Nightlock is the name of the poisonous berry that Katniss and Peeta use to defy the Hunger Games makers and their government in the first book. The Wynncraft item has a high poison value. Though there's no lore on the item, I assume this is a reference. The item also has a high loot bonus... well the berries did win them the Hunger Games so...

Similar Characteristics (not references, but necessities of the genre):
    - "Bleeding Rose" is a member of the Blossom of Blades (Highlands resistance group). They're the one who is shut down by the other members despite presenting important information and actually showing interest in resisting The Queen. In Ensemble of Hope, they're the one who comes after Sui and the player to ask if they can help.
President Snow in The Hunger Games has a fascination with white roses, some symbol of perfection to him. He also uses the roses to mask his imperfections literally and metaphorically. The rose's scent masks the scent of blood on his breath at all times, which is a remnant of him using poison in complicated ways (read more on it elsewhere). Metaphorically, he drops roses on the resistance to show that his power and control is unaffected by their rebellion, and his mission to bring them into his sphere of perfection unhindered. Also, one of his most famous quotes is "Never let them see you bleed." The quote is only in the movies unfortunately...
The idea of the "Bleeding Rose" is partly an emphasis on the fragility and failure of perfectionism. In Fruma, the idea is more so emphasizing the parts of reality we try to hide from ourselves. It could also be a direct comment on the character's internal suffering (mentioned directly) which is masked by their Highlands-esque extravagant appearance.

    - The Wastelands & District 13. Now desolate, previously "inhabited" regions of their provinces. The Wastelands seemed to primarily be focused on back-breaking mining work rather than "livelihood." District 13 wasn't so different though. Somewhere I remember it was involved in graphite mining, but I saw recently that it mainly housed the government's nuclear research program. Research wise, I assume there was some changeling "research" going on in The Wastelands (ngl I forgot the actual name of this region) from reading parts of the text in Gikyo's fort, but I didn't read all of that.

    - The focus on attire and general appearance (to the extreme) of the people in the Highlands and the citizens of The Capitol in the Hunger Games. The Highlands people don't go as far as the citizens in The Capitol (if you've seen the movies you know what I'm talking about), but it's pretty evident, especially in
    A People's Sovereign
and the clothes merchant's dialog. They seem to mention how the player is "colorless" in the Highlands. There's also the well-known morph set reference.

There are obviously major differences that I intentionally omitted in the 2nd section's comparisons. This section was just for interesting similarities. It's not saying anything.

Lmk of other examples you've noticed! I also removed 2 of the most elaborate comparisons from my first draft... maybe I'll post em one day. They're wild trust me.

Also the fact that they're legit just called districts
Uh... Fruma is isolationist, claiming the entire world has succumbed to disaster and fallen.
