How You Discovered Minecraft!

Any post at all over a month after the last post.

 

A friend told me about this game.

A few years ago, hurricane Sandy hit and my block was one of the few left with power. So some friends came to stay with us. One of the kids I saw was playing this game on a phone. I was hooked as soon as k tried it. I immediately bought PE, then PC a few months later. PC FTW!

 

It was first grade, we were walking through the hall my best friend at the time said to me "have you ever heard of minecraft?"

Back at 2nd grade, some of the "older" kids drew a creeper. I asked "what's that", they said it was something from Minecraft. I later got MC 2-3 years later

 

I jumped off a cliff. Somehow I found miencarft.

 

It was trendy. i was a scrub.

Now I'm not.

I still play mc.

 

I used to watch old MC playthoughs (back before hunger was a thing) and loved the game's visual and audio. I still play it today :D

 

I have absolutely no clue how I discovered minecraft but I know I used to play classic mode a lot and then I think I got the actual game in late alpha/early beta

 

a friend introduced me to minecraft PE and i became obsessed with it. i loved watching youtubers play it, and just found the whole game interesting and fun. i ended up buying the computer version in the summer of 5th grade (going into 6th). i was so obsessed back then.

 

I imagined a game just like Minecraft and was very suprised when I found this sandbox on the internet.

 

My brother came home overexcited about a new game he found on his iPod. He had just found it by exploring the AppStore looking for games. I didn't actually see him playing the game, but he let me play the game on his iPod till we saved up our dimes and nickels to buy the real version for the mobile phones or ipods. I was instantly consumed by the game playing all day every day after school. I spent hours and hours on the game, and before I knew it, I found people at school playing the game. They were talking about the PC version of Minecraft, which I was unaware existed. I struck up a conversation with one of them, and they guided me through the game answering every question when I'd come to school in the mornings. Before long I was watching YouTube tutorials as I was very intrigued by the building aspect of the game. Ever since then, I've been building medieval/fantasy. I joined early 2011 or 2012 and switched to computer at 1.2.5. I started playing multiplayer when 1.4 came out, and my fist server I played on, sadly, died out just 2 months ago.

My journey here started with MCPE and my friend. I went to my friend's house one day to find him playing this game called Minecraft Pocket Edition. It was the shiz to me and we shared his phone for a while. I started watching youtube videos and loved the game. I then asked for a tablet for Christmas and paid for MCPE with my Christmas money. I was hooked. I played all of the time, and when I wasn't playing, I was watching videos. I knew more than the noobs because I watched a lot of YouTube before I finally got the game and because it was so easy to craft things in MCPE. I finally asked for a crappy laptop for my birthday and got one. I paid for the PC version of Minecraft with my birthday money and started playing. I played Mineplex and other servers. I also played survival. I finally asked for a desktop for Christmas since the laptop I had sucked really bad and I was just playing on MCPE instead. Now I have had my desktop for a whole year, running on an Intel I3-4170 integrated graphics the whole time. I found Wynncraft about a month ago and am hooked with it. I am so glad that I am still here today, probably 3-4 years later, don't know exact time. I started playing MCPE in 0.5.0 Alpha, that's all that I remember. I hope that my experience continues to grow, especially since I am now part of this community right here.

 

I had seen my older brothers playing it and my initial thought was "wow that looks stupid" then went on with my business. A few months later, while at my best friend's house, I saw her playing Minecraft. She insisted that I play, opening up a new world and everything for me to explore around. I had spawned in a forest biome (this was back in 1.6 or 1.7) and had her walk me through the basics. I had played for a bit, constantly forgetting how to craft tools and such. My friend told me to go underground for the night when it began to get dark (but I was like "nope, I'm gonna keep doing my thing here, dude") so I went into a cave. I saw a red mushroom and freaked out, attacking it (I thought it was like Mario or something with hostile creatures you jump on haha). After realising that the mushroom was a harmless mushroom, I did the walk of shame to the hole I had built. I never got to play Minecraft on my friend's laptop after that, but I had managed to get my brothers to download the cracked version for me. Finally, after playing the cracked version for so long, I decided to get it legal. About 2-3 years ago, I bought Minecraft for myself and I've been playing ever since.
