I put the dexterity in so that the warrior could have that extra bit of damage if they are lucky while being able to use quite a few high level strength based equipment at the same time. Also, you did it again. In the one you suggested, it would be 76 strength.

As a warrior myself I'll just give this piece of advice: Don't put points in dexterity. Seriously don't. Dexterity is the change of making double damage, but even if you place 70 points on dexterity that means that you'll have 70% change of making double damage, that means there will still be times where you won't cause double damage to mobs. Strength is what matters when you want to make good damage, because with 70 points in strength you're guaranteed 100% to always do 70 points of damage to mobs, that's a much better deal. If you only place 30 points (or less) in dexterity it means your changes of doing double damage are very low, and that's just useless. Also because strength and dexterity don't work together.
If you're worried because you want to make thunder damage, that's simple, just find a good spear that (along with the other elemental or neutral damage that you want of course) also has thunder damage and you're set to go, the spear will do the job for you, you don't need those points in dexterity.

On this thread many people said that strength and defense are what matters, and they're right, they're really all that matter. After that you need intelligence (because intelligence gives you mana regeneration, so you can do your spells without running out of mana). The agility can also be good, to dodge damage (but along with intelligence they're the two abilities that get less points).

As for spears: I currently own Bob's mythical, but the spear in the hive shop is better for neutral damage and speed, I haven't gotten much farming for loot done, so I haven't found much diversity in my spears yet.
As for armor: I haven't found much, I am still partly using the armor from the quests. But one thing that I'd like to point out: Sometimes it's better to have armor with more defense and less health, rather than walking around with tons of hearts but no defense, like you're a pin cushion ready to be pounded into meat by the mobs. I only have 7.8k of health, and before I used to have more health, but I would die more easily because not all my elemental defenses were high enough. Good gear and spears have mana and life steal (the poison is nice because it makes the steal last longer), along with high damage (ids with spell damage, melee damage, elemental damage, more skill points, whatever you want, as long as they have barely or none negative ids that affect your play style...)

My warrior build is around 60 strength, 60 defense, 30 agility and 30 intelligence (but this is just because I like even numbers).
I am sorry for the wall of text. :3 I hope it helped though....
    ________________________________
Strength doesn't work together with dexterity, for example if you have 70 points in dexterity and strength: you either do 70 points damage with strength or you have 70% change to do double damage (and when that happens it's double damage but it's without the 70 strength, they don't add up).

edit: Also I forgot, but the same thing happens with agility and defense, when you're able to dodge your enemies with agility the defense isn't active, it's one or the other.

Actually, it's even worse than that. 70 DEX doesn't give you a 70% crit chance, due to balancing (imagine 100% crit chance or 100% dodge chance.)But it's true that Strength and Dexterity are mutually exclusive.

It's highly recommended that you invest skillpoints into Strength, defense and a third stat of your choosing, preferabbly intelligence.
