I've noticed somewhat of a flaw in your method as your calculations don't take into account breeding over more time so you don't actually find an average. It works when aiming for a single horse, but larger-scale breeding won't match what you've said.

I wrote a little program that would take an input of 1000 of a given horse type and then breed all of them repeatedly until only horses the tier above remained in numbers >= 2. The final cost is the input cost divided by the horse output. Here's what I got:

    Brown Horse : 24eb
    1000 brown horses = 166.39360000000002 black horses
    Black Horse : 2.253692449709604le
    1000 black horses = 137.68950171767926 chestnut horses
    Chestnut Horse : 16.36793235210198le
    1000 chestnut horses = 136.8867133280029 white horses
    White Horse : 119.57283474899235le

To round the numbers a bit and give you nicer numbers in terms of whole emeralds:
    Brown Horse : 24eb
    1000 brown horses = 166 black horses
    Black Horse : 2le, 16eb, 15e
    1000 black horses = 138 chestnut horses
    Chestnut Horse : 16le, 23eb, 35e
    1000 chestnut horses = 137 white horses
    White Horse : 119le, 36eb, 42e

What are your thoughts on these numbers? They're much higher than yours, but this seems to be the effect of repeated breeding. You also deducted the cost of leftover horses which brought it down, where my method uses pretty much all that it is given.

I already confirmed his results with my program in another thread.
    https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/java-wynncraft-horse-breeding-calculator.185836/

I would like to see your code, but from what I can tell from your description, you continued to breed all your horses together, whereas a normal player would not breed their horses together after reaching their objective horse, because that would risk downgrading the horses.

....EDIT: Your numbers are within 5% of his numbers...I don't see what's wrong here. The slight error might be because you have a relatively low amount of horses bred. Mine was within a fraction of a percent of his but that was after millions of cases.

They are not much higher than mine, and as you are are the one using a sample size and I'm the one calculating by stats you are in the wrong

I am sure you did not read the whole conversation going on in this thread...
You are not the only one creating a program to calculate the prices - mine acutally breeded about a billion horses (fixed calculation time 1h per tier).
Just try it again by going the way: "Breed a million times until I get to tier X." Then you can divide your total cost by the number of horses you bred. Choosing enough horses should give you the exact same numbers as shown in the calculation. (What btw theoretically breeds an infinite amount of horses, so you won't get results more precise than that!)

    @Yuno F Gasai
I already have a 30/30 that I can upgrade to 35/35 if I want to (but I doubt I will). Is buying a 40/40 for 85 le worth it in terms of speed/ a noticeable upgrade from my chestnut at the cost it comes at?
    Thanks.

personally I find that a chestnut is fast enough.
imo a white horse is more bragging rights than useful.

but it's still a good informative thread that won't get "old" during the time (at least until brown horses wont cost 24eb anymore)
