Now, horses just walk around, which is boring. What if we could ride horses to battle like the Rohirrim from Lord of the Rings? That would be epic! Here is what I thought out.

When you ride a horse into a mob, it can damage them. The formula is as follows:
    Variables:

(Your Weapon's Base Damage * (Horse speed * 1.7)) * 1.65 IF it is charging (Aka if you pressed ctrl after 4 seconds, Ill explain later)
*Base Damage because it doesnt make sense for a heavy weapon to deal the same amount of damage as a super fast weapon as one is much heavier, this is balanced with the horses walk speed.
**You can only damage mobs with a horse when you are moving

    Now for sprining mechanics:
One thing most of us are familiar with is that your horse goes faster when you press ctrl. To change things up, why dont we change it to this:
When you jump on your horse, it sets your hunger to 3, and saves your current hunger, and adds to it while you're on the horse. 4 seconds later, it changes your hunger to 4 so that you can sprint. However, once you jump off the horse, it will be set to the saved hunger which was added to it. Let me explain it more simply:

You have 2.5 hunger > Jump on horse, you have 3 hunger so you cant charge with your horse > 4 seconds later, you have 4 hunger and can charge. > You jump off your horse, have 6 mana which yo ugained whil on your horse.
So there are 4 tiers. Basic, Uncommon, Undecided, and Epic

Let me just label them as 1, 2, and 3.

Horse armor can only be bought or found in tier 4 chests.

The chances to get them are 46%, 27%, 18%, and 9%. Then chance for them to even pop up in a chest is as so:
Since I dont know the chances for chests, Ill give rough percentages:
    % Chest - % Tier 3 Chance - %Tier 4 Chance
    10% Chest - 2% Chance - 3% Chance.
    20% Chest - 3 % Chance - 5% Chance.
    30% Chest - 5 % Chance - 9% Chance.
    40% Chest - 8 % Chance - 15% Chance.
    50% Chest - 13% Chance - 23% Chance.
    60% Chest - 20% Chance - 33% Chance.
    70% Chest - 29% Chance - 45% Chance.
    80% Chest - 40 % Chance - 59% Chance.
    90% Chest - 53% Chance. - 75% Chance
    100% Chest - 68% Chance. - 93% Chance
*If you're lucky and a horse armor pops up, then it rolls again. Max a chest can hold is 3 horse armors.

Alright now, what determines the level? The chests level divided by 2.5. That means I need to open a chest centered at level 100 to get a lv40 piece of gear. One way to get this is to go to a chest with no mobs around and open it at level 100.

A horse armor's material is depended on the horse level itself, which is why the damage depends on the player's weapon.

Horse armor's colors are as follows:
    --Diamond - Gold - Iron
    1. 40+.........20+......... 0+
    2. 34+.........17+.........0+
    3. 28+.........14+........0+
    4. 22+.........11+.........0+

    Stats:
    Speed (Adds to the speed)
    Jump: (Adds to the jump)
Stability: Will get to that later
Acceleration (Will get to that later)
Health: (For the horse, will get to that later)

Now for the 2 stats that might confuse you: Stability and Acceleration.
For stability, when you hit a mob you have an x% chance to fall off. (Start's at 35%). A % to stability is a %chance not to fall off. -Stability adds a 1% chance for you to fall off.
For acceleration, without armor, if you change your angle over 65%, you will wall off. Acceleration increases that, meaning with 45% acceleration, you can turn up to 110% without falling off.

A horse armor's level matters for the horse, not the player. A level 1 player with a 40/40 white can wear lv40 horse armor, but a lv100 with a 10/20 block cannot use lv26 armor.
Horses have health to now! But they dont die, they just rest when they get too low.

If a horse gets to 0 health, you can't ride it for 3 minutes. If 10 minutes later it dies, you cant ride it for 5 minutes. It stacks 2 minutes each time.
A horses base health is 50 + 10 per level, and then horse armor.

    If a horse dies:
Your horse needs to take a break! It is too tired.

    If a horse is dead:
Your horse is too weak to ride! Wait x minutes for it to regain it's health.

Basically making it so you dont live off your horse to fight for you.
Now, the base part stays the same. We have 20% success rate, 50% fail, 30% degrade.

However, per level you gain 1% success rate and lose 1% fail rate.

The rate is the average between both horses

    This means if I am breeding a 25/30 chestnut with a 5/30 chestnut ( 45 success, 5% degrade - 25% success, 25% degrade.), we get 45% Success rate and 15% degrade rate.
So if you have heavy/bad WS gear your horse is slower.

    Here is a formula:
    (((You're WS - The weight of the item you're holding) + (Horses WS with speed modifiers * 1.875) ) / 2) / 3.75

Basically the average of a horse walkspeed and you're walkspeed divided by 3.75 so that we can go from a big number like 150 to 40/40 or some shit. The * 1.875 is the horses walkspeed divided by 2.

The weight of the item you are holding is done like this:
    Super Fast - 0
    Very Fast - 15
    Fast - 30
    Normal - 60
    Slow - 90
    Very Slow - 150
    Super Slow - 210
    • Enkser: I sure am glad to see you back. And with the key!
    • Enkser: Wonderful. Here's your promised horse. You know how to use them, eh?
    • Enkser: Oh.. dear god. Okay, let me tell you the basics...
    • Enkser: You can train your horses by traveling with them. The higher quality the horse is, the faster he can go. He can also wear stronger armor.
    • Enkser: You can obtain better tier horses by breeding them! Put two horse saddles in the crafting area in your inventory to do so.
    • Enkser: Be careful if you do, you could end up with a much worse horse. Normally, you should have a 20% success rate.
    • Enkser: Also, your horse can trip and fall if you turn too much or run into mobs. To fix this, you could wear flexible armor for the horse.
    • Enkser: Anyway, you can talk to the horse merchant over there to get more horses for your breeding. Good luck!
    Aaaaaaand das it!

If you're breading... lets say 2 whites, there is nothing passed white anyways so you'll just is at a white. Also, if you are breeding to 30/30's you deserve to get a white anyways.

Also its balanced because the degrade rate isn't lowered, opposed to it being -1 every odd number

2 odds meaning +2 success and -2 degrade and 1 even meaning +2 success

    meaning 4 success and -2

By balanced I meant per level, not balanced between success and degrade

Fair enough, but you are just making cleanses like warrior that have more heavy weapons better. It's unfair, and even if it makes more logical sense, I feel that the gameplay would be worse because of it, and the goal of game design is to make engaging and fun mechanics, not logical points, and I think DPS is just more fair
