Hopper Help

So I realized that people make mistakes and i think that something can be fixed about this one. Basically, I dropped my tier 2 horse in a hopper and my friend did the same a few days ago and i think you can imagine that we were both pretty pissed. So I was suggesting for the Sea skipper if you can just have him on the boat and give him the pass so you don't drop a horse or something else in there by accident or have a chest that we can put the item in and if its not the right item if wont take it or you can just make it so that if we put the wrong item in we just get it back

 

or simply just attach an item filter to the chest to only allow boat passes, or maybe if you throw in the wrong item it spits out a hopper

 

The problem is, when you have 2 boat passes in your inventory, how can the system know where you are going to?

I do not think it will work because a hopper can only accept 5 types of items, but there are more than 5 types of boat passes in main ports such as Nemract, Selchar and Llevigar.
(It may be done by coding or plugins but idk)

 

Well as he stated, a chest would be a fine idea. Maybe a trapped chest with a hopper underneath, so if you click the wrong item in it wont go down into the hopper until you close the chest. just this way you cant accidentally drop the wrong item if they're next to eachother

 

The point is, it's a problem with a very simple fix. Since Wynncraft has no refund policy you can see hundreds if not thousands of posts complaining about such things

 

Number one, a tier 2 horse isn't valuable. Two, just be more careful with your thinks, or get the Wynncraft modpack, which has item locks to prevent things like this.

 

Number one is just useless, some people drop mythics in hoppers. Delete it

I think something definitely needs to be done about this.

 

It leads to security problem, since everyone has chances to drop their items into the hopper, everyone should be able to access the chest. Since everyone can access them, you can steal items which are dropped into the hopper by opening the chest.

The best way is to unbind Q as your drop item key.
Wynncraft has too much things which use hoppers to make them work, dungeons,puzzles,quests,boss altars and so on.They have to basically remake whole game to fix this problem.

 

they could use npcs that take items like in the hive but that would take forever

 

I dont have my drop on q, but have it on ~ so I dont accidentally press it. IT still doesnt work when I miss my mouse pointer or scroll too far in my item hotbar and when I go to drop a boat pass into a hopper, or item tokens into a hopper at a dungeon.

 

Using a simple example, there are lava in Wynncraft, players may drop their items into lava, so all lava in Wynncraft should be removed to prevent players dropping their items in it?

In addition, missing mouse pointer is not the responsibility of Wynncraft, since players are the one who manage their inventory.

 

I recognize this isn't their responsibility. They should care for the community, and ive seen dozens of posts talk about this same issue. It's not a hard issue to solve. If a hopper is supposed to only take one specific item, add an item filter. or even attach a dropper that shoots out your item if you accidentally put it in. Just a disappointment to see the creators not caring about issues in the game and community

 

I don't actually think there's anything that can get done. If it's a vanilla system it could get clogged eventually with the tokens, and then what is done with the tokens after they're thrown in? There is an idea to use Collector NPCs in dungeons(like in Tower of Ascension and The Hive), but since dungeons aren't quests and those are quest NPCs, I don't see this being added soon without a new type of NPC being added, and because of the code refactor and a bunch of bugs with quests like ???, The Hidden City, and a few other quests, the developers have their hands full right now.
