Hey, Why Wasn't There A Rollback? ( Massive Dupe Issue Discussion )

Man, could someone just push the fix economy button and fix this whole mess maybe push the fix lag button along it too

We all know that the economy is screwed. It's not only about mythics but also about all other rarities. Do you know what that means? We will see a lot of champion's set users, morph users and item merchant item users because new players will be unable to afford a build if the dupers just keep buying everything on trade market. Even corkian amplifiers (which will decrease prices for good mythics) won't help against the dupers because they will keep buying items...

That said, there are three possibilities:

1. Load a rollback (and give something like a triple xp week so noone is mad at you)
2. Manually remove all duped LE (I know that you have tools to find out if an item is duped - but this option would probably take forever)
3. Leave the market in its current state (and accept all the bad side effects duped LE have on the economy)

 

im 99% sure the only "good" (if you can call it good) solution is a rollback and add some compensation
theres no way in hell there is enough mod firepower to manually remove the duped le and playing the waiting game is just :doom:

the problem with the rollback is all the money spent on bombs, especially during the sale/dexp weekend

The choice of rolling back or not is really easy to make once you separate personal interest from the greater good.

 

This is way out of management's control as well. This is not the fault of the staff at all- it's the fault of the selfishness of the community, namely the dupers.

 

I'd say a roll back would be good. I didn't grind a lot of levels over the dxp weekend but I'd still be annoyed that I need to run LI 20 more times to regain my medallion.

 

is higher taxes on the trade market for the richer a thing? will that help?

 

What about people who only was able to level up due to the holiday, who then have to return to work soon and wont be able to make use of the double XP given? If given at all.

I completely approve of a rollback. The market cannot be left in its current state under any means. Don't waste time, do it now so it isn't as harsh as it can be in the future.

well, not really assuming prices are up and keep up; all mythics (disco included) would sell for more although that LE that buys it may be duped and it's a question of will it get removed or will it pass under the radar at that point.

 

I agree. If there is going to be a rollback, it needs to be immediate, before more damage is done. Honestly it's been way too long already- the rollback should have happened day 1.

Ice Bear doesn't blame the management for not doing a rollback earlier. People hate rollbacks in general and the first thing players were asking is if there was going to be a rollback. Ice Bear says add the fact that people would be upset due to lost levels and the team would have to deal with sales then it becomes a nearly impossible choice.

 

I know everyone’s said it already, but I think Wynn needs a rollback. It’s gonna be hard, and annoying, and it’s gonna hurt a lot of people, but it’s the prudent thing to do that’s going to minimize suffering long-term

Estimates of duped LE is upwards of 100 thousand stacks. That means current LE is worthless. We’re trading bottlecaps. The only way to fix it is a rollback. This will permanently hurt the wynncraft economy if a rollback is not done
