If you do a Rollback, you will loose 1/3 of your players. Our hole guild will leave then. We spend so much time last week in this game. So you have to take the choice to risk that.

i'll use a personal anecdote to explain why this wouldn't work:

over the dxp weekend, i bought lots of mats and ings on trade market to level up profs. the stuff i bought on the trade market is directly causing my xp gain, so rolling back the trade market would affect my xp gain.

The Wynn economy has survived dupes before, I mean yes your emerald is worthless but all the items you sell will scale with the worth of emeralds, it you farm your profit will scale with the price of emeralds. If you didn’t plan on farming to make more money your amount of emeralds was worthless anyway.

Still, bank has nothing to do with xp. They can just store the database of player's levels, make a rollback and set every players' level to the new ones.

And that's a legitimate concern, but that has nothing to do with the long term effects this has on the markets and isn't a good reason to do a rollback.

You would need to rollback player inventory, bank and TM, which I have less of an issue with, except for the fact that I gathered thousands of items from every profession which I planned on using for crafting and have no intention of getting again.

That's just me though, try explaining to all the people who got mythics, good LQ gear or T12 tools this weekend that they shouldn't have them, I'm sure they'll love to hear it.

Well in this case, you are right. Although I don't think it would make a big difference if you could keep the levels AND get back the money for the materials/ingredients. Mythic trades are the big deal, and trash items being sold for millions.

Also they can apply filter rules: only revert big money trades.

First, define big money trade, second trash items being listed for millions doesn't actually mean anything if nobody is buying them, third just no, a simple issue calls for a simple solution and in this case that means doing nothing. People are already confused, there's no reason to do dumb shit to confuse them more.

That's the smallest sacrifice imo. We still save the progress in levels.

I would figure from the point out just look for overpriced mythics being bought by no name players like when disco boom and duper’s drove its price up. It’s not like it affects any other aspect of the game other than mythicss

Since I am not part of the dev team, I can't give a good solution. I don't have insight of how the Wynn api is functioning. I am just assuming, it is working the standard way. And pointing out the fact, that our levels don't have to be touched at all.

Inflation is a very tricky thing, and even with this much inflation in the game the economy will eventually even out and it will be fine. The problem is that the entire mythic market was bought out by dupers, and so supply for mythics is incredibly low. Since supply is low, prices are high both because there are few mythics and because of the insane inflation. The severity of the inflation and duping (tens of thousands of stacks of le) means that le is temporarily worthless. Real life markets take years or decades to recover from hyperinflation, so it's safe to say that the Wynn economy will take at least a year to recover.

The severity of the dupe: The total amount of emeralds ever generated on Wynn is realistically under a million stacks of le. Most of that is not in circulation, or is on the accounts of inactive players. This image (though old) shows a glimpse of what might be in circulation:

    image0.jpg

All of a sudden, tens of thousands of stacks of le flood the market from duping. This more than doubles the amount in circulation, and creates an incredibly unstable market.

On a lighter note, here's what happened with hyperinflation in Venezuela:

Inflation? Just apply Contractionary fiscal policy, that should be enough to correct the market failure by eliminating the negative externalities and aligning the marginal private benefits back with the marginal social benefits.

We know nothing about how any of the player data is stored (api isn't really the word to use here), it's very possible (and likely) that reversions like that aren't possible. Also, if you know you're not making good suggestions, you should read what I wrote before about that and stop making them, suggesting rollbacks this late is completely pointless, it'll never happen, it's a logistical nightmare and it serves no purpose. Until the devs address this, there's no point in suggesting ways to do a rollback that won't happen.

I was 2 years into an economics major before I moved to accounting, I know what happened in Venezuela, which is why I also said earlier that that can't happen in Wynn. In the real world, the cost of inputs can increase which means the floor value of money can increase which leads to a positive feedback loop, causing this. Wynncraft doesn't work like that, it isn't a real economy in that sense and it can't have those same issues. If that could happen, lootrunning would have caused it a long time ago since every lootrun is literally somebody printing money and somebody finding a disco is like creating 50 stacks out of thin air. You should go back a couple pages to read what I wrote about that since it's a better reply then what I'm willing to type out now.

I think this is a knee jerk reaction by a bunch of people that don’t value real time. A lot of this seems manic, no one who wants a rollback has provided how far back we would be rolled, there’s no proof other than speculation that hundreds of thousands of stacks were duped, yes people with duped le will buy mythics for an insane price but normal players won’t. As soon as duper’s get there mythics everything will most likely go to normal. Give it enough time and you won’t ever be able to tell this happened, but people spent hours of their real life grinding that’s worth more than an in-game market sorry.

Api is the "middleware" communicating with the database. Database is where you store the data. The database structure is the thing, what will decide what is possible and what isn't. With enough time and work you can sort of fix the dupes without rolling back anything, really. A complete rollback is just an idea of players who have no idea about how things work in the background.

First of all disco doesnt sell for that much

But aside from that there's a difference between LE in raw or in mythics
