Hey! What You're Calling "dern" Isn't Dern (and Other Misinterpretations)

Alright I just realized that I have made a grave error in the interpretation of the lore. I thought that the Silent Expanse would lead to a larger province like Gavel and would provide a connection to the Realm of Darkness, resulting in a lot of confusion on my part. In reality there is just a portal directly from the silent expanse to the realm of darkness, and there is no larger province. This means that people actually have been using Dern correctly, I just don't know why they call it dern instead of Realm of Darkness like how the Realm of Light is referred to. It kind of makes me frustrated.

Because Dern was name for it from the beggining. Also it is short and nice.

 

The word Dern has been used for years, like before Gavel came out, maybe earlier, idk I wasn't around much before Gavel. And everyone though it was a province before some dev (Grian?) said it was a realm.

 

I'm like 99% sure Dern was a pre-Gavel meme suggestion which is why people call it a province instead of a realm since at that point we didn't have the realm of light. The forums got wiped in 2015 so it's really hard to be sure about all the details, but there are a few threads which predate the release of Gavel on the current forums so it's safe to say that's where the confusion came from.

We already got Corkus and Dern is (basically) confirmed, all we need is Bloomi and we've got the meme trifecta :)
for real though Corkus was the best update in this games history, I unironically think Bloomi could set this game back on the right path...
