Guilds Are One Of The Best Parts Of Wynn

I really do agree that guilds are great, because every time I meet with some people from a guild, I see them cracking funny jokes, bantering, and having a good time :D

Even if I don’t have a guild and never been in one, I can see that for most it would be a wonderful experience! :)

On a more serious note though, I do really get annoyed that it's so commonplace now for a ton of people to think all guilds are hella toxic even though maybe one member in it slipped up and said something wrong. That mentality is kinda driving the scene into the ground and imo is reducing the popularity of guilds to newet players by a lot.

I mean I don’t disregard the social aspect of guilds, I just find that for some players like me. when there is no reward there is no motivation to keep progressing in guilds.

 

It’s a video game, there’s no reward of motivation to do any of it.
Why do you play Wynncraft? Does it reward you with any real life benefits? No, of course not. It’s entertainment. And that’s what guilds are. They’re entertainment. A game within a game. They don’t have to give benefits to enjoy them.

Guilds are not remotely as toxic as people make them out to be. There’s toxic people, yes. But there’s toxic people everywhere. Toxicity happens all the time outside of guilds too. The issue is that when it happens with guilds, people blow it out of proportion. Guilds are a competitive environment. And I’ll be honest, in general the vast majority of big alliances and guilds are run by people much older and more mature than the average player of this server.
When you put factors like that together, yeah of course things are gonna get heated every once in a while. There’s gonna be toxic assholes, but there’s far more genuinely nice people than there are assholes.
Toxicity within the guild community isn’t nearly as rampant as people make it out to be, and it certainly isn’t entire guilds or alliances. Just invidual players that make the entire guild community look bad

 

I personally think that alliances should become an official part of the game. It would be a lot cooler if we had multiple massive alliances fighting for complete domination, and smaller guilds were faced with the choice of joining one or staying solo and even forming their own. My only massive issue with guilds is that there is nothing to gain from territory other than I guess respect (most people will see you as a no life at that point). It would be neat if there was some sort of resource, bonus, or reward for controlling a territory. An idea I had a while back was maybe that guilds who controlled the most territories would have some sort of governmental control over the world... making decisions that impact everyone such as the prices of shop items, or if any players purchased an item from a shop in territory controlled by a guild then the emeralds would go to the guild bank.

We could even go so far as to make members of unallied guilds killable by the guild which controls the territory. This would lead to power and control becoming much more important for being able to travel safely

But they could be improved by doing that. Or maybe have a tournament system like in Clash Royale.

Maybe that would make the economy worse, but let’s be honest, it’s already messed up beyond repair.

 

I play Wynncraft because I feel like there's actual progression in the game and it reward for doing stuff. For example, getting a higher level rewards you with sp and being able to equip higher level gear. This is something that guilds fundamentally lack (other than more player slos) and what makes them boring for me.

Let me explain. In everything other than guilds you are rewarded with things that have value. Guilds are valueless in wynncraft as a whole, players don't need to join a guild and are the same as players who are in a guild. The problem is that guilds don't reward you that are anything of value. Everything in guilds stay in guilds, which means guilds are nothing to players who don't care about guilds.

Guilds suffer with a lack of actual progression, something that the main game does not have an issue with. You obviously do not need progression in guilds like levels in the main game, but even guilds offer damn nothing to the top guilds. Again, why not give out a few shout bombs and an xp bomb to the top 5 xp/emerald donors of each guild? You really don't have to isolate guilds into a situation where eventually no new players will care for guilds, when there are no rewards. There are a multitude of ideas that many more people can think of that can incentive players playing guilds.

Another are raid bosses, (don't take too seriously) which are bosses that a guild needs to beat together to earn rewards for the whole guild. Maybe item drops from defense wins. (also don't take too seriously) But in general I think guilds are a bit boring for players like me that want to participate in guilds but in the end have no motivation too.

Sorry for the long ass essay, maybe I should do my science homework.

 

There's quite a inimical environment inside guilds, and alot of incidents prove it

From what I remember a person in the guild Hall of Fame start cutting themselves after being sent sexual harassment, death messages, and more after leaving federation

I've heard stories of people needing to switch guilds because they were getting doxxed and sent death threats for being in non fed guilds

I've seen people making fun of cancer victims and saying they're not deserving of life because their kid is in another guild

That's far beyond tolerable, and even if those moments are "isolated" or sparse, that doesn't excuse the absolute worst in any way, and it certainly should never get to that point.

A) Guilds are fun, and I mostly use them to chat with people
B) Wynncraft has a poor multi player experience. It's a single player game at heart with some multiplayer elements thrown in, kinda like Dark Souls. If you don't believe me, then make a new character, do trick or treat with 3 friends. Don't say I didn't warn you.
C) Guilds are not at all necessary for the full Wynncraft experience as Roi said.
D) Guild wars are the most boring part of Wynncraft.
E) The drama over Guilds and such as the Valkyrie alliance, this alliance that alliance kinda gets boring. I see you wanna own most territories, but after a point it just gets boring. While I was in SDU, wars consisted mostly of boot stomping lower guilds who had taken our territories, and protecting it from BCr for some inexplicable reason. It kinda puts some people off
