To those that are making the argument of targeted moderation... e.g. people on one side of the war are being watched more closely or by more mods than the other side.

    maybe don't break the rules...?

There is a difference between a macro spamming the use of /gu attack and using the banner numpad spam. The members were banned rightfully, they can appeal that ban at the forums for their second chance.

Mods don't ban on bias or suspicion, they had reasons to do it that cannot be leaked to the public, however I do agree that moderators need to be more transparent, as well as be more strict on the rules, and inform the community whenever there is a change, like with the infamous *no subguilds* rule that wasn't changed for years.

I recall someone on a previous raid being banned without proof for sniping when they were legit, yes they were unbanned and still walk on Wynn today, but that event pretty much shut down our raid back then. If we have over agressive mods banning as soon as they see something out of pattern, there is a clear problem. Everyone should respect the rules, but when you get banned even when you are respecting said rules just because your guild is popping extremely well while being legit (and said person was banned only because they were the leader of said guild as I recall), there is a huge problem.

    >speaking about an old raid as a concrete example of a mod banning an opposing legit player to show there are problems of biased mods on the server, said player was unbanned about an hour after he proved himself innocent, but it still cost us to end the raid because having your teammates getting banned while they are playing legit is very demoralizing. Thats the tl:dr.

It's fair to say that there sometimes is a small problem with overzealous moderation cuc skip glitch but I do not think we have a sample size big enough to claim guild bias in anyone's favour

As the mod who is guilty of this- Yes, it was a mistake, and I admit that. It was my fault, and my mistake. If I could go back and fix things, I absolutely would. And I'm sorry.

However, I was NOT participating in that raid, nor did I favor either side I had quit the guild scene by then. Please do not accuse me of bias there, I was just following reports I had received.

Sorry for going off topic, but I need to clarify this.

I was the mod who banned for the CUC skip first. When I mentioned the glitch to the mod team, they said they had never heard of this bug, despite the fact it's been in game for years (QA didn't know about it either)- and quite frankly neither had I. It was then decided to ban for it, after warning first. Every single time, I warned first. As for how they didn't know about this bug, I have no idea, nor is it my problem.

I hear people saying "But mods have used this glitch in the past!" However, that's less of the mod team allowing it and more of a past moderator's likely misconduct, which should have been reported. As for who these past mods are, I have no honest idea.

I'm sure y'all will still be angry over this, however, this is my point of view on the whole issue.
