Generic Fantasy - [5/7]

The sun sinks further into the sky as you trudge ever closer to the city walls. It turns out that they were a lot larger and further than they looked. Mysterious air qualities of your armor give you what is essentially air conditioning, but wearing plate for two days straight is apparently a bad idea.

You hold the pendant for a few moments before electricity somehow discharges from your claws. You hear a soft *click* inside of it.

???: "That is extremely mildly distressing, but it also explains much."
You have no idea how she managed to vocally cross out a word, but she just did.

 

I carefully try to open it and look inside

 

I try as best I can to ignore it and go to sleep.

 

Eradius: "So what in the hell do you even want from me?"

 

"As do I, friends. Now, I hope you all like boat rides. We're gonna be on this one for a long while."

 

You cannot physically tell what is inside there. You can see something, know that it exists, but your brain refuses to tell you anything. Hurts your eyes, too.

Your extremely sensitive ears make this so much harder than it should be, but you try your best anyway and soon feel sleep beginning to take you.

She smirks in an annoyingly condescending manner.
???: "You are the one who showed up here, remember? I could be asking the same question."

Rolof is already seasick and vomiting off the side of the boat.

 

The tables have turened. Now I'm sick :(

Eradius: "Well I jest fell asleep, I don't..."
Eradius stopps himself and thinks about how stupid he would look if he finished his sentence.
Eradius: "Wait, who are you anyway?"

 

With my limited knowledge of magic can I tell what the item is supposed to do?

 

"Well, this is going to be interesting. Rolof, perhaps you should just stay there for a while."

 

I fall asleep and keep sleeping until the morning/when everyone else is caught up time-wise. Also, can I change my prepared skills?

Whatever it is, the amount of magic concentrated in it is exponentially larger than the normal background amount. Other than that, no.

Having heard that its supposed to work as a focus I go to the driver and cast charm on him and see if the spell it more powerful then usual

BlueSlimerino made me take a good hard look at the charm spell, and so I decided to nerf it. It now works that the target regards you with increasing friendliness/loyalty/complete submission depending on spell rank.
Why do I feel eviler than I should

Spells just work in the way that they improve over time. The highest you can cast without some external boosting is listed in the spell.

The driver turns towards you.
"Yes? What is it?"

Eneer: "We spent a few months deep in the west. We decided to come down the river, go out to the sea, and then sail south to some tropical country to spend the winter. Kind of derailed now that we're going north, but that was our plan."

[Badly-Worded Excuse]

???: "Just someone who spends way too much of their time asleep, clearly."

She mulls over it for a few seconds, then switches to obvious fake surprise.

"Oh! You meant my name, silly me. It's Serena, pleased to make your acquaintance."

Dez:"Hi I'm new in town, do you know where a magic shop would be?"

 

Eradius: "Uh, huh. Well..."
Eradius gets up.
Eradius: "Is there anything to drink here? My throat is a bit dry."
I proceed to examine the cabin's interior.

 

"I've heard the south doesn't have anything that hospitable, with how imposing the fog coast is and all. Though, we should make it to the Bloodwood before winter sets in, so maybe we'll find you your tropical getaway before first snowfall."
