The metal chips and breaks slightly, more and more of the safe frosting over. Nearly the entire front of the safe, as well as parts of the wall, are now frosted over, and there's a crack in it several inches wide. Easier to pry.

Somewhere outside in the street you hear a rumble.

True, but that's still a little confusing. Why can you instantly see someone's Vitality in battle, but not out of it?

Anyway, I hit him with another Double Strike, rolling around to his back and lashing upward with two heavy stabs.

 

I guess I go in the direction of the mines.

I think we should add ability to check for somebody's vitality before or during battle, and if not checked we won't know how much health they have until they take damage.

As you set out for the nearest mining area, carved out into the large hill the entire town sits next to, it slowly begins to rain. It's not much, at least at first, but by the time you're under the cover of the mine it's pouring.
Of course, all of this is still a few hours in the future compared to everyone else, so they won't be receiving it for a while.

Yeah, that's probably for the best. Although a person may notice you trying to figure them out like that.

You use every possible method at your disposal, cracking open the safe in about a minute. A large amount of the wall, along with some of the floor and ceiling, are covered in frost by this point.
The safe's fine, though. Mission accomplished.

Oh this is a bad idea that completely exploits a thing I only used once before.

Kae unslings her bow and attempts to summon in an explosive bomb arrow and quickly shoots it in the midst of this scenario Kae can't solve but will try to anyway cuzynot.

If that fails, then she just shoots the normal arrow in the midst of this scenario in frustration.

 

The rain becomes a distant sound as you go further into the mine, soon becoming blind, maybe 3 feet in. Hasn't even gone deeper into the earth yet.

The... well, it's barely a wall around you.. the earth around you is moving rhythmically, almost like breathing. The elemental may only look like it's the giant creature outside, but there's an alarming chance that's only a small part of it now. It's "almost" like you're inside it.

Ascending the shattered remains of the stairs isn't much different. the hallways feel more like earthen tunnels now, like they could collapse at any moment.

"Anyone else utterly distur-", Zeth tries to say, before a shake stops him.
The hallway.. expands, almost. as part of the wall falls off and becomes 5 vague humanoid shapes of stone in front of you

You manage to break open a hole in the oil, enough for some water to get out and make it slightly worse.
The good news is that the fire's died down somewhat thanks to what looks to be several dozen mages doing their best to take out the oil, along with normal people with buckets of water when wooden buildings on the waterfront catch on fire.
Surprisingly, enough people can pull things off, even without PC's. Crazy, I know.
