World Gavel Quest Referencing Earthbound?

This suggestion also comes with a question

So due to the fact gavel is also being plagued by meteors, I thought this would be a good idea because the journey of Earthbound starts with a single meteor.

So basically there is this very suspicious meteor outside Bucie that some guy wants you to investigate it. When you approach the meteor, an alien cow jumps out and tells you he is from the future and says the doom of Gavel is approaching, and needs someone to help him defeat this godlike alien in the past so he won't come and destroy gavel in the future. You decide to help him, and you defeat the alien and save gavel. The cow alien awards you with an "Emerald of the future," that can't be used to buy things but can be used on accessories for extra stealing.

Now for the question: is Star Thief an Earthbound reference?

 

Not really related to the current suggestion and I assume you know this already but all quests and content regarding wybels are technically Earthbound content so thats cool.

 

Shattered Minds references the Ramblin' and Struttin' Mushroom enemies. Additionally, I plan to add an enemy called Star Man someplace, though it may take a while. And while it's not CANON EB references, the Morph-Set and Orange Wybels are both references to a fangame called Cognitive Dissonance. Morph-Set is an extension of the kinds of armor that Starmen can equip in that game, and the Orange Wybel is a wholesale reference to a silly superboss.

As for the quest, it's...well, I can't say it's unfeasible to add in concept- I was about to say that such a direct reference like that would be kinda iffy, but then we have Sherk kicking around in the swamp, too...but overall, Wynn doesn't deal with aliens much. The only aliens we have are Humyns on the moon and Wybels, which are both kinda out-of-context problems, and neither of them are particularly malicious. Even the Orange Wybel is just ornery that you're interrupting his science experiments, despite his extreme power. A quest like that, especially with the idea of a god-like alien and bringing time travel into the equation, being so...well, early on, given you mentioned Star Thief...it sets expectations and hypes up what'll be a relatively forgettable instance, I feel. And, time travel is something we try to keep restricted, too. The only time Time Travel ever comes into play is Craftmas Chaos which was made before those kinds of story standards were introduced in the team, and outside of that it's all illusory flashbacks. I don't think it would work out much.
