Dnd gets an exception to what I said because it was kind of the great-great-grandpa of all RPGS. Elves in there had flaws such as the timeless perspective and drows were evil. This is good because it makes the elves have a serious flaw that puts them on par with other races and not just immortal superhumans. Not to mention elves did not receive the 'git gud' package of ungodly high intelegence, agility, etc. I am more of pointing towards the tolken style elves that are more than abundant in stories like the inheritance Cycle (Eragon books) and LOTR.

That is part of what made me laugh so hard. It sums up nearly all crappaly made elves in fantasy, The Super Saiyan buff in DBZ was one of those things that said 'I'm the best because I have gold hair'. Replace 'have gold hair' with 'I'm an elf' and that sums up 90% of elves in fiction nowadays.

 

Wait, I figured out the elves’ master plan! Clearly they want everyone to think they’re perfect and not greedy and just overall amazing people, so that they can later take over the whole world!
Their plan is this:
1. Live in Aldorei to be safe from danger
2. Make everyone think they’re perfect non-greedy people
3. And when everyone thinks they’re good people and allies with them...
4. Overthrow all the governments in the world and take all their emeralds, since the elves are secretly greedier than the villagers.

I mean, look at all the evidence. They say greed is bad, but they’re hoarding massive amounts of emeralds and have their own personal valley that they don’t let anyone access. Clearly they’re hiding something.
