World Flight With Elytra

I don't know if there is something like this, as I haven't reached the higher levels of the game, but I think there should be some sort of Elytra functionality, possibly with ability to use mana like a firework to boost (with an expensive cost, so you can't spam it and stress the game). You could also have a rideable pet like a horse that could fly.

I think this would be a great addition either for faster travel and the ability to get a bird's eye view, which can be great for getting a sense of location and distance on the server. I think it would be really nice to be able to see the world from above.

My biggest concern might be invisible barriers meant to contain players during certain quest sequences, but there are already barriers and teleporting to keep the players in place, so that shouldn't be a problem. As long as those areas don't have pillars of invisible barriers reaching into the sky, but rather are just a short box, then you could fly over them without problem.

Since there is no minimap in the game (that I know of), this could be helpful to get a feeling for the area. If this was attained at the end of the game, then you'd already know most the map, so perhaps you could get a low-level version that only allows you to glide, and provides you no defence or health benefits. Then a later version could allow propulsion and have stats so it's less of a burden to wear normally.

P.S. I looked through a few pages and didn't see anything about elytras, please let me know if this was already proposed and if I should move this post.

 

vanilla elytras are not at all polished for wynncraft, and just slapping them on to a game not at all designed expecting the player to be able to fly would obviously very complicated; it'd also just be very unprofessional, why have a vanilla item in a game that uses little vanilla mechanics already? having some sort of flight unrelated to elytras and fireworks, maybe, but do note this would require lots of balancing and ultimately just might be too op, since it'd invalidate all forms of travel other than instant TPs.

 

You seem new, so I'll give it to you straight. This has been suggested multiple times in the past and people aren't too keen on it. I would recommend backing out before you get flamed.

Maybe it could be used for a new glide major ID but apart from that it would just break the game and people would just fly over the borders

 

Elytras would definitely open up to... Game breaking experiences. Especially since it would invalidate literally all parkour and make mobility skills useless, in addition to there definitely being some sort of way you'd be able to exploit them to get to places you shouldn't be. As for minimaps; Some minimap mods are allowed as long as it doesn't have an entity tracker, cave map, or chest radar.

 

Elytras doesn't fit with wynncraft's gameplay.
There is an online map and some community-made minimaps (at least the one from wynntils)
If you want to fly then watch turbostratus's videos.

 

This is a cool idea but the thing is, Wynncraft has a lot of invisible walls, I mean a lot, if you have ever tried to climb a mountain you would know this, so it would be an absolute pain to remove those invisible walls, just so you can fly. Plus, I have a feeling there are a lot of things hidden by these invisible walls, unfinished builds, new areas, etc.
