FEATURED WYNNCRAFTIAN Season 6, Episode 1: YYGAMER (Suggested by @NicBOMB) Hosted by @colin350 Howdy! Believe it or not, it's been 278 days since I posted the thread on a Featured Wynncraftian revival. After its long awaited return, I am excited to present to you: the first episode of season 6! Since it has been a hot minute since we've even had a Featured Wynncraftian (817 days to be exact), let me give ya the rundown. Due to my unoriginality, I'm gonna just quote the prettiest of princesses, @Pretzule: "Basically, we feature people from the community that have done something that I can ask questions about or are pretty cool and have something to feature. They don't always have to be a popular member, just as long as I can ask them about things that make them unique." Like past seasons, if you think you know someone who would be a good interviewee or is just freaking awesome, feel free to suggest them here. Although @YYGAYMER has the reputation of shitposting, this interview is far from that. In fact, YY was extremely fond of the letter e! Below you'll find our "masterpiece" of an interview! Your ticket to Wynncraft forums' fame was by completing Salted's HIC challenge. What made you decide to take on the challenge and how did you keep yourself motivated along the way? For the readers who are unfamiliar with what the HIC challenge is: HIC stands for Hardcore-Ironman-Craftsman (three of Wynncraft's class gamemodes). To complete the challenge, you must reach combat level 103, without dying once, finishing all quests, completing each dungeon at least once, and completing legendary island. YY actually put together a lovely post here. Before HIC challenge is added, I was doing various Wynncraft challenges (because it was fun to do and some people liked that). Then suddenly HIC challenge - the official challenge appeared. So I thought it'd be good to prove myself and on forum so I started working on it. Professions were still hard part of this challenge, but I think patience from previous profession experience and having race with other HIC challengers made me stay motivated. (thx @Linnyflower and others) ________________________________ What would you say was the hardest part of the HIC challenge? I'd say 'managing limited inventory slot'. Thinking about what items and how many I must hold required me too much thinking - It was harder than 'not dying' or 'having patience' (Thankfully this problem is solved with pouch update) ________________________________ In my experience with HIC (which is not nearly as much as you) I know what you mean. You said earlier that prior to HIC you mainly did your own Wynncraft challenges, what were some of your most memorable? "Legendary Island Perfect Run" was one of the most memorable challenge (link). Unlike other challenges doing for fun, I felt like doing 'actual challenge' (took 9 attempts ree) ________________________________ Speaking of LI, I was watching your HIC LI run video and was greatly impressed with your strategy in defeating YahyaBot without losing much health. If I ever get there I’ll be asking for your advice . That’s crazy that it only took about 9 tries to get it done perfectly! This wouldn’t be much of an interview if I didn’t at least ask about your posting career—in fact you’ve accumulated many of your likes from some...posts. What kinds of things inspire your posts on the forums? You mean 'Shitposts'? oh no I just get inspiration from various things in Wynncraft - Quests, Lores, Items, Players, Gameplay, glitches etc. By looking at them, sometimes I find something funny about them, and then I share the thought to people. One random example (about Players). uh oh this is pretty old shitpost ________________________________ I didn’t want to say all your “masterpieces” are shitposts just to save some of your dignity :). I definitely got a good laugh out of that one! Looking at your profile, you’ve stuck around for almost 6 years (and hopefully more!). What parts of Wynn has kept you playing? I'm not really sure about this hmm (maybe I didn't have anything to play other than wynn?) Actually..for few years, maybe those people I met ingame made me keep playing. (Because I didn't have much experience on online RPG games like this?) And then class build. I found fun in using various items and making build, and as item update continues, it made me seek more builds. (and this led me to Wynncraft challenges too) ________________________________ Do you make builds based on your play style or by request of others? Or just a build that seems cool? All of them. If there's request, I make build for them. Other than that, I make build for future, or for challenges, or something cursed unusual build which is far from current meta. (Currently I'm working on build called 'ETA Spell') ________________________________ What aspects of your upcoming build made you name it “ETA Spell”? These days most builds are created with 3 elements. So ETA means 'Earth / Thunder / Air' Most spell builds were created around 'intelligence' stat, but new 'spell cost reduction' items made various spell builds possible without relying on intelligence. By not relying on intelligence, I thought it'd be possible to approach in various damage boost items. So I decided to make build focusing on damage (ET) while having swiftness (A). Because ETA is often meant to be used as melee build, I decided to call it 'ETA Spell' to make difference from other ETA builds. (it's actually hybrid but anyway e) ________________________________ That’s quite an interesting take! Despite being heavily involved with the game, items and build making has never been my forte. I think the name you’ve selected is certainly fitting given your intended use of the build! If you were to add/remove/change something about Wynncraft’s end game, what would it be and why? wow this is interesting question e hmm Maybe revamping Legendary Island? As time passes, the average skill of player have increased so high that 'endgame challenge', Legendary Island became easy for them. So if I could change something in wynn, I'd revamp or add more tiers in Legendary Island to bring more and harder challenges to endgamers. (Of course it won't take long for people to overcome such challenges haha stat pots go brrr but still I think this is needed) ________________________________ You’re definitely YYGAMER, the challenge person, that’s for sure! That wraps up Featured Wynncraftian, season 6 episode 1. Thank you for such a great interview! Thanks for interviewing me and for reviving FW! E E E E E E E E E E E E ________________________________ Whew! We actually made it to the end of that interview! If you want to read some of the past interviews from the last few years, click here.
