So long story short when I make theories involving that quest, you guys are the ones who actually know the truth? Good to know

 

Well it wouldn't really be a theory if you asked them for "the truth".

We added many small hints all around for you to find, and hoped you'll make theories about them (just like you are actually doing!)

 

both me and spyro haven't done the quest. I'm level 89 and even if my life depended on it I won't grind it to 90.

 

Do it. Grind to 90. It's worth it. You'll be able to play THE GREATEST QUEST OF ALL TIME, and even go to a new place. The best place. One might even say that...

It's a very fun place.

 

To be quiiite honest, the only awesome thing about the quest I noticed was the dialog at the start ;^:

Second of all, yay someone likes my rhyming dialogue.

 

The greatest quest of all time?
Pssssh, sure, you keep thinking that.
My favourite is personally Beyond the Grave. Interesting dialogue and puzzles, a new area, an actually interesting boss fight, and a compelling story.
Fantastic Voyage is just, so... meh!
You're forced to do a fetch quest for a stew you never even eat like in POTION MAKING.
You're forced to do a puzzle while in a boat. Boats are glitch as hell on Wynn. Great idea!!
If you die you get teleported to the starting area.
The combat section is broken as hell, half the enemies just clip into the walls.
The quest just kinda ends for no reason, and at the abandoned mines because why not?
The part with the cannon is convoluted and the area is too tightly packed with random debris to move around and solve the puzzle.
Really the only good part was the NPC's dialogue, and the builds. The builds for the quest are amazing! The quest in the builds is just "ugh."
And the dialogue... Rhyming gets a bit irritating after a while, I came to Wynn to play a game, not read a Doctor Seuss book.
And doesn't Grian do the dialogue?
So that means...
The builds are good, and Lotem made them.
The dialogue is good, albeit a bit repetitive, and Grian wrote it.
And the quest is boring and underwhelming and frustrating, and guess who did that part?
Honestly Memory Paranoia was way better, you made that quest right?
Just, what was up with the random boss at the end of Memory Paranoia?
It completely ruined the flow of that quest?

Everyone's entitled to their opinions, I guess. I personally adore the quest due to all of the different stuff you do and the overall theme. As for the dialogue, the process usually involves the GM writing some base dialogue with Grian refining it. Things went differently for Fantastic Voyage, Grian felt no changes were required. Which I was relieved to hear considering I probably spent just as much time writing rhymes as I did working on the rest of the quest.

As for the boss fight in Memory Paranoia, we wanted something a bit spooky at the end, something that acted as a good "finisher" for all the dark magic stuff, in the basement since it's the last area. Even if we wanted a cutscene we were running low on time so we couldn't have. Might've broken the flow a bit but the quest wasn't exactly meant to be zero combat, just have a lower emphasis on it than most quests. Not to mention, it was the perfect way to give the player the letter.

Different stuff you do...
The boat idea was different, but it's broken and glitchy and just annoying.
The part with the shipwreck was interesting.
Oh, the stew. How many useless fetch quests have we done before? Suspended Flowers, Potion Making, Spider Cave... Nothing new there, and it's basically like the first quests you ever do, which are boring.
The combat sequence feels like the part in Wynn Ex C when you run from the guards but this time without any threat.

I get that we're all entitled to our own opinions, but honestly, most of us share the same opinion that the quest isn't very good.

 

I blame 1.9 for the boats. Tested it a million times before those came along. I think once we finally get rid of the 1.8-1.9 hybrid version it'll be all good again. And again, you can always swim. As for the grinding, the quest was mostly trying to create an aspect of scavenging for resources, so yes there was grinding but it wasn't "kill the exact same mob 500 times just to get 20 of its drop" you get the items relatively quick in comparison to the other grinds so it isn't too bad. Not to mention it's all in a small space so you don't waste a ton of time travelling.

As for the combat sequence, I assume you're referring to the very fun place there. It was intended to be long, would be really weird if you just stayed there for five seconds. We wanted the area to sink in. Not to mention there was still a good amount of mob variety.
