    You’re not wrong, I didn’t see much negativity about this quest, until like a year ago when Selvut made it clear how much he hates it. While Eye of the Storm isn’t my most hated quest, (Realm of Light is) I do agree with Selvut’s points. I know not everybody looks for story in a quest, but the gameplay aspect of EOTS is arguably just as bad; There’s fetching and grinding, unnecessary bosses/tasks that only serve the purpose of making the quest longer, (Like with the balcony part, if he had just told us to go to the mage immediately, nothing in the plot would have changed) and Naragath is a generic demon who’s also extremely annoying to fight because he spams teleport and flamethrower.

    Of course, if you don’t mind all of that and you enjoy the quest, there’s no harm in that. There’s just quests that try to do the same thing, but way better imo, like the Envoy questline. Obviously, Envoy doesn’t involve demons, but if it wasn’t for the player, Corkus would’ve been destroyed, similar to Lexdale and the area around it if it wasn’t for the player’s actions in EOTS.

    At least most people can agree that EOTS has a good reward, not only with exp and cash, but with the accessory shop in lexdale and the abyssal amulet (but even those aren’t that good, abyssal amulet doesn’t have useful ids since poison sucks in pve but it’s theoretically the best life steal/poison necklace, and the only accessories that look decent in the shop to me are Diminished and Destrotur)

    The plot is shit, the dialogue is shit, the boss is shit.

    But at least the gameplay doesn't make me wanna scratch my eyes out.

    The quest is bad and even the gameplay is extremely flawed, but it has nothing on the likes of Realm of Light or Temple of Legends. You could make a thread about them like this and it would fit just as well. This quest is not fun, but there are quests that are anti-fun.

    Then why do we proceed to literally kill them right afterward in the hand-cave? We kill like 20 of them and nobody gives a shit. There’s nothing special about the ones guarding the town. They are just generic enemies like every other enemy in the game like bandits. The game never makes the point that we should somehow save the cultists.

    That still doesn’t make sense why we had to go through the basement. Ceyquin gives no reason why, and it’s probably not because he sympathizes with the cultists and doesn’t want them to be harmed. It would be 10 times easier and just as safe to go back the way we came and go across the river to the house.

    Your quote doesn’t really explain it, just points out that it exists (which is not like we couldn’t tell already) The hand could have been a giant toaster and still would have made as much sense. Even the wizard guy is like, “Eh... I don’t know what the purpose of it was. Maybe to crush cities, who cares?” It’s just stupid.

    That’s not how that works. Unless if they revamp it, quests have to stay the same for new players who haven’t done it yet. Sure, I guess I could blame it’s an MMO, but that still doesn’t take away the problem.

    Look, if you enjoyed this quest, that’s good. I’m not saying you can’t enjoy it. But for me and lots of other people, we didn’t. Not all quests are equal, and this quest does have some huge objective flaws.
