Mythology, in general, does not tend to give consistent descriptions of appearances. Aside from iconic Mythological figures like Cerberus and Medusa, very few things have consistent appearances. Some figures change appearances, personalities, some may very well even change genders.

There are also how different cultures believed in different ideas. For example, Hades is renowned as being the God of the Underworld in Greek mythology, but Romans saw him as the God of everything beneath the surface. This is the same entity, but this changes him from being the equivalent of Satan to controlling the ores and riches of the earth, essentially making him a God of Wealth instead. For a less extreme example, take Neptune and Poseidon; they are both the same Lord of the Sea, but due to the differences in culture, one entity ended up with two separate descriptions, ideologies, and incarnations.

To make it short, it's hard to describe any mythological being by its appearances unless it was truly iconic and well-known, such as the aforementioned Medusa or Cerberus. Even other well-known creatures such as Harpies often vary with how they are described or illustrated. So to ask about a specific detail gets into the finer details of Mythology, which, even on a professional level, can be difficult to answer. Hope that helped :3

Edit: You can see another example of this in the spoiler from my last post on this thread, where it states that Venti have been described as mere wind, as winged men, or as horses kept in the stable of the Wind God. This is a good example of how extremely some mythological figures change from source to source.

I just saw the spoiler now. So although mythology can be not very similar in stories, you managed to give 3 possibilities. Winged men, no tails. Gusts of wind, no tails. Flying horses, yes tails. So in at least one form of the creatures tails are present.

I am just wondering, how are the Venti MOST OFTEN depicted? As the horses? Or as the gusts? Or then men?

As I said, there is rarely any consistency in how they are depicted. In one case, it was stated that what form they took depended on how chaotic that particular spirit was compared to others. If I were to try and guess which form it is most depicted as, it wouldn't be accurate, as I do not have access to a large majority of documents and records that professionals do. This can also be said for the knowledge that I own, since I am not a true professional in that field. Trying to make a guess with my secondhand knowledge would be inaccurate and likely incorrect.

To make it short, there's not really enough information or consistency to make a clear and concise guess. This is why the source that claimed they changed form based on how chaotic or mature the particular spirit behaves is my personal favorite, as it allows for all forms and incarnations to overlap. There simply isn't enough consistency between all the sources to make an accurate guess due to the legend passing through several different civilizations and cultures.

I'd like to help more, I am just unsure as to how. I've provided you with what I know on the subject, as well as why a consistent appearance in Mythology is uncommon, so there isn't much more I can say on the topic without deviating from existing facts. Thank you for listening thus far, and I'm sorry I couldn't help more.

Edit: "To make it short..." Yeah I didn't do a good job of that. There's another two paragraphs after that XD

To be fair, I don't think the content team is as obsessed with Mythology as me, so some of these random item lores and monsters likely aren't designed to accurately reflect any namesakes or counterparts from our own mythology, especially the lesser-known ones, such as the Venti.
