how about adding a new currency worth 64 le? since some mythics now cost more than what a trade inventory can handle, this would be a new change and would eliminate the need of a middleman.

my idea is that the currency is so rich and rare that you have to go to a certain place to exchange your money, and not give it to the merchant in any town.

maybe a sanctum in the “northpole” of the world, where they have alot of this strange rare thing that is apparently worth 64le, and they want to sell it to us for liquified emeralds.

then another place in the “southpole” of the world, they had a lot of this strange substance, and it is a neccesity for them to live, but a wormhole digested it and spit it out to the other side of the planet, these people are willing to give you 64le for just one of this weird substance.

The currency is a type of crystal, much like the nether star. Botanic shard, Isotope O21, Cosmic crystal, Antimatter, are all names given to the strange substance by fellow civilians in the north pole, but the south pole people are very familiar with it.

To enter these places, a quest has to be done to prove you worthy of keeping a secret.

In the quest, you have to travel alot (between the two poles,) at the end, you have the choice to tell the people of the south pole where their valuable substance is located, or you can keep your mouth shut for a treat.

This is slightly better than a lot of other suggestions of this nature (with your final idea). However, it needs a lot more detail. What would the new currency be named? Where would the "certain place" be for exchanging the currency? Would you have to do anything special to unlock the exchange function?

It could be useful, but there's been many suggestions of this, and one main reason why it can't be added: it's very easy to instantly get loads of emeralds with this through duplication. Yes, it's bannable, but only if someone finds out. Therefore they won't add it, unfortunately.

The biggest reason why these type of suggestions have been shot down many times is because fixing the economy would be a more beneficial solution then adding a new form of currency, since we wouldn't need a new currency if the economy wasn't so inflated.

 

Well, yes, that as well. The thing is, how can you fix such a broken economy?

Your question to me: they do, but if you were a money forger irl and were trying to forge £1000, would you rather: a) forge 100 £10 notes or b) forge 10 £100 notes (I know there are no £100 notes but imagine there are).

As for your comment on DrAlphys's comment, maybe there's no direct link in the context of this thread, as you weren't suggesting that the economy be fixed, merely that a new form of currency be introduced, but the reason a new form of currency is needed is that the economy is badly broken, as more and more emeralds are constantly being brought into circulation at a much greater rate than they are being taken out of circulation. This is probably why item merchants tend to be quite expensive, but it's not a great solution as it just discourages players from buying from them, as they are very expensive, their items aren't even that great tbh, and you can get items for free by grinding or even just killing mobs (I.e. ones that are a threat to you, not you specifically hunting them).
