Game Design Elemental Defense Balancing

If you try to make a normal build based around an element or two, you're probably going to be incredibly weak to a certain element or more. This will have a drastic affect on your fighting capabilities.
If you make a build based around purely elemental defense, you're probably going to be incredibly hard to kill and OP.
There has to be a way to balance it; reduce the values, change how much effect the defense has, do whatever. Some things are just too good or too bad to be left alone.

 

The "weakness" of Elemental Defense is poison and other forms of neutral damage, although I do feel doing no damage to an Elemental Defense build is too strong.
I said before to make it block twice the damage and have half the damage blocked be inflicted as neutral damage. In order to not effect the max damage blocked, but still allow decent damage to be done.

 

lol wut a meme. Every fucking build is weak to poison m8 so its literally not worth mentioning

 

.... I think there's a bug with elemental defense where if you have high amounts of elemental defense and use war scream it makes you invincible.....

 

Nah m8, any mythic exept maby Pure can like 3 shot you.

 

You can partially fix bad elemental defense on your armor with powders.

 

Well usually high elemental defenses have low special Ids like: poison, life steal, either melee or spell dmg, walk speed, neutral damage, health regen, thorns, reflection, etc.

(Not all the time though)
