I think a pity system would be a great addition to the parkour. For most of my playthrough, I didn't really struggle with any parkour. The hardest parkour I did was the RoL 4 speed + jump boost parkour, but the EO parkour was on another level. It took me over an hour to complete it, even though I was taking it slow and turned my FoV all the way down. I've seen that all of the new parkour that I've seen so far have had a pity system, and that feels like a great addition. Not everyone is good at parkour, and the EO parkour shouldn't take more time and effort than the rest of the dungeon combined.

As someone who's put many, many hours into MCOrigins' parkour back in the day, I can't honestly call EO's parkour difficult, but I wholeheartedly agree with the arguments here. Getting good at Wynncraft doesn't mandate getting good at parkour, so there shouldn't be such a difficulty spike anywhere.

Another thing is accessibility: Minecraft itself is a very accessible game, allowing less able players to have a lot more fun. I remember someone having posted a thread some years ago complaining about parkour in Wynncraft, saying that since they don't have very good coordination, they had great difficulty with parkour sections. For such a person, EO is simply completely impossible.

Glad to see this brought up again. Wynncraft is strongly built around being accessible (and is often done incredibly well, particularly with combat) and parkour, especially very hard parkour, flies in the face of that. Even if I/we might find it easy, that doesn't necessarily apply to the playerbase as a whole. I'm in agreement that parkour in Wynncraft should have a timed/failure count bypass.

As someone who has been trying out EO as a benchmark for 2.0 recently, and who also sucks at parkour, I will 100% agree with this. I don't mind the first 3 phases, but part 4 is frankly absurd for anyone who isn't experienced in parkour. I personally know a few people who would quit the dungeon if they came to it because they have poor coordination and would not be able to complete it. I felt the same way about one of the Realm of Light quests with mandatory, moving parkour with no spells (I don't know if this has been changed; I've only done it on one class shortly after 2.0) that I found so frustrating, due to me sucking at parkour and the server lagging, I ended up not doing the quest on any other classes.

I find the parkour quite hard, I just run off all the time
The floor at the end jumpscares me
Maybe I should take off the coward mask

I get frustrated in the moment but afterwards I don't really care all that much. Its like playing osu, my mental messes me up way more than my hand.

It's amazing to me that the CT origionally removed the fourth stage for this very reason and then in 2.0 they decided to re-add it but make it even HARDER than the original.

Maybe they should add 2 paths, one is the normal parkour and another that is something different, maybe easier parkour but it takes longer, or something completely different. I, like a couple other people in this thread, find no issues with the parkour, but still some people suck at parkour (no offense to those who do) so it could be a good idea.

man I suck at typing out my ideas

I hate seeing/reading this. I suck at parkour. I mean *really* suck. I scale a cliff using escape to get to Thesead because of the centipede inspired parkour in the marauder quest. For someone a bit older than average for the game, it is as much about dexterity as skill. Getting frustrated, flustered and or generally ornery doesn't help either. The likelihood of any of these factors changing, other than dexterity getting worse, is pretty much zero.

When I was doing the EO parkour, I was actually thinking about how much you would hate it. It has some relatively large platforms, so leap could work in some cases, but the platforms are invisible so it's hard to judge. Also the 3rd and 4th stages are extremely punishing, as they are not only hard, but they also are extremely long.

Well, thanks for thinking of me.
Another irrational contributing factor is that even fake heights in games give me anxiety. The first time I visited Thesead, I was wearing Passus Lux boots and immune to fall damage, but leaping off a cliff to get back still bothered me. And it is the fake height, not player death, that causes it.
When I get killed almost immediately in a cave room, grinding spot or quest that will continue right at the boss room, the first thing I do is go right back in, using escape to vault myself further in to get a look around, fairly certain I will get killed again but at least have enough recon to develop a strategy. I do cast storms as I am pivoting around checking the place out and sometimes I am pleasantly surprised to take out enough mobs to move on, but the point is that getting killed in game doesn't bother me.
I also like to catch my breath between jumps, so disappearing platforms and parkour in the midst of a time limited escape is tough even if the parkour is relatively simple. Long doesn't bother me all that much if I can take breaks. AS counter intuitive as it sounds, I was fortunate to get the longest parkour in sand swept tomb as it is large platforms that were relatively easy to land with leap and it had no time pressure. As a tangent, I am not sure how anyone can be good at Galleon's exploding floor; I avoided falling into existing holes pretty well but had the floor disappear out from under me and I never really figured out how to know that will happen. I just ran around non stop jumping existing holes until I finally barely made it. By barely, I mean the 0 in the countdown had a black background because I was falling as it displayed.
Besides not being able to finish some quests and access certain things, it also limits my ability to do dungeons with others, even ones I will eventually finish.

I love doing parkour in Minecraft and I do enjoy a good challenge...but I find the EO parkour to not be very enjoyable. It was already difficult to do with the 3 sections so I don't really see why a fourth just really needed to be added? Not saying the the 4th section or entire parkour should be removed but I feel like if the dungeon is going to be required to unlock more game content, then it should at least allow the player to skip it after multiple attempts. If that's too much then I could settle for checkpoints in the more difficult sections. It is also just really ridiculous that the parkour can take longer than the actual boss (this is probably more of a 2.0 issue though since the boss is absolutely destroyed by the new abilities).

but idk maybe I just don't like EO as much as I thought I did. Or maybe I just don't like Wynncraft parkour that much. Who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
