Oh, it's not locked.

In one side is a small painting of a woman in a white dress w/ black hair. The picture looks quite aged.

The other side has nothing, it's just smooth metal.

 

Ti'Lin:"A man in white ropes gave you this? Why?"

Ti'Lin:"Is he still inside?"
He walks towards the door.

 

Alth:"No traps A faint amount of illusion magic though..."

I take out one of the dragon lungs, and toss it in the house.

 

Congratz. The house now has a dragon lung in it.

 

I tediously walk in, getting a better scope of the house.

 

He opens the door and looks inside, searching for the man in white robes.

 

There is no man in white robes in the Tavern (did you really think I would make it that easy? I just needed to ex machina you a locket)

Give me a sec. I've been practicing this description in my head for a while, I want to make sure it has the right feel to it. Give me a sec to write it out

 

I follow him, btw.

 

Ti'Lin:"Huh.."
He closes the door and goes back outside. He puts the locket around his neck when he suddenly feels something else around his neck. He looks at it.
"A key? How long has that been there?"
(I needed a way to bring in the key, if it is still important.)

 

You enter the house, the floorboards creaking as you step through the doorway. A thin layer of dust lays across everything, and flakes of dust dance in the air, visible in the sunbeams coming through the windows. The pale light of the early morning sun glazes everything in a ghastly, colorless glow. A faint smell of dust and wood can be registered. All the candles around the room are unlit, as the hazy glow from the windows is enough to illuminate the room in it's hollow white glow. The end of their wicks are blackened.

On the far side of the room is a bed. The bed is made of some old wood and has a straw mattress, white in color. The pillow is likewise a creamy white. The sheets on the bed, however, stand out. They are a shifting pattern of pale, pasty colors. Almost as if it's the ghost of a rainbow. The colors slowly dance magically around the sheet, silent yet rhythmic.

Beside the bed is a stone fireplace, it's innards blackened and burned. A metal cauldron sits in the fireplace, but it seems almost forgotten. It's cast aside, slightly rusted and ash-stained. It's inside stained with the markings of old stew. The fireplace is cold, it has not burned recently.

Across from the fireplace is a staircase, leading upwards towards a second floor. The stairs are made of wood with brass rail guards. They are dust-covered, like the rest of the single-room, but do seem worn.

And finally, nearby the door is a table and chairs, both as dusty as the rest of the room. The chairs look old and not very sturdy, but closer inspection reveals that they have seen much use. The table os covered with a red tablecloth, inlayed with golden vines, as if light itself is trying to find it's way through the crimson sheet. Upon the tablecloth, a small box rests. Dust, and made of a rich brown wood, it is an almost perfect rectangle. Half-way up, the wooden block has a cut going around it, it's opening. The backside has two small iron hinges, and the front has a small clasp holding the box shut.





(I was trying to go for not quite a creepy feel, but definitely eerie)

I was actually going to make the locket give one last riddle in the Modron language when opened to hint towards the key (very obviously this time) but you guys already opened the door, so... (also I lost the document with the riddle on it, oops)

 

Ti'Lin:"Okay. I think I got some awnsers. Let's go meet up with the group, wherever they may be."
