How about saying that we can tweak the Binder if we find it's too powerful or underpowered?

I don't understand why that's needed tho. Can't you just reskin the Undying warlock? Invocations take form as the spirits around you, spells act as the vestige powers?

That said, how would we actually do binding different vestiges? The point of being a Binder is that you can change your party role easily by binding different vestiges. How would I manage the mechanics of binding a vestige who's not casting-based? For that matter, how would being influenced by poor pacts work?

 

Correct. Despite having a +4 CHA modifier, she got really badly screwed on rolls. Her DEX isn't high enough to attack effectively, or make use of her Draconic Resilience. Also, I think her spell layout could be a bit better. I'm honestly considering completely remaking her from scratch.

Idk, I just... don't really like HB classes that much. or races. Or anything...

Even in that one campaign where we were allowed HB races, mine was based off of something official

Ah. Personally, I'm fine with homebrew as long as it's balanced.

Not that much more complex then Mystic, which you're fine with.

 

The difference between it and mystic is that mystic is still WOTC made, so you know it's going to be more balanced

But I can look over it again if you wish, and reconsider

 

That said, Mystic is actually rather overpowered. WOTC =/= balanced. Even standard Ranger (not Revised, but standard is in the PHB) is underpowered!

If you think that the Binder is overpowered or underpowered, we can tweak it. I'd like to at least consider it balance-wise as opposed to just counting it as bad due to being homebrew, though. And as I said, reflavoring Warlock is not an acceptable solution. At that point, even BARD would be better to reskin (even if Bard doesn't work that well for the Binder anyway).

 

May I also tweak some of the lore-ish portions of the class?

It says Vestiges exist in the Void between planes. But that's the Astral or Ethereal planes. Or outside of that is the Far Realm. There IS such a "void" that exists, and it happens to fit all the characteristics of the Void the describe in the class, but it's not the space between planes.

Stuff such as this, I might want to edit to fit 5e better (or, at least MY view of 5e)

 

What is that void you speak of?
