Each hex is 5 feet. The map uses true columns.

Make the square be 4 hexes up and down using the true columns, then rotate 90 degrees and do the same thing on the other side

Keep in mind, by the way, that unlike Earth Elementals, Dao do not have any damage resistance, not even nonmagical weapons.

Guys I don't know if I'm allowed to say this but there's somebody else you've met who really hates the dao and would love to help you kill her.
