Let's just say everyone is now following the road north.


The road is made of stone, worn by the desert sands. The day is hot, desert dunes rising up around you.

It is at the second bend in the road when something starts to feel a bit off...

Something is off. There's someone, or something, following you.

But the road is empty, and you see no one on the nearby dunes.

Ninjaposted, I went with passive perception

 

Caligo: "Stay alert, everyone."

 

Erevan: "Everyone... something's wrong. Something seems to be following us, but I can't see anything."

 

Heat: "I sense something.. odd."

Heat: "If someone is here, I will find them."

 

Ti'Lin:"It. Is. So. Hot."
He looks at Alice.
"What about you? Black clothes holds the heat, so you must be warm."

 

She points to her hat, then points to her shadow. The big hat gives her a lot of shade.

Yeah, NAT 20s basically count like a 40.

You close your eyes and feel for a second. You feel rumbling, but nothing causing it. You open your eyes, the sand shifts a bit. It's underground. It has to be.

@bluepenguin1002 I added an altitude box for you that @Teh_Swashbuckler created for his Aarocka. Basically, it says how high up in the sky you are (moving up and down costs movement). Right now, you are on the ground.

 

Heat: "We cannot stay here, I can feel the ground below me shaking, rumbling. There is something underground! Run!"

 

He grabs Alice and place her on his neck.
Ti'Lin:"Time to go!"

 

Erevan: "We could just once have a normal day?"

I take the dodge action, putting myself on guard and looking around for danger.

 

Heat: "There is no point in looking for the cause of the shaking, it is definitely underground. Just run!"

I start running down the path.

To Kyelas : "SO IT'S OK OR NOT ?! I WILL CHOOSE, NOT YOU !"

 

As you all start running, the road in front of you explodes open, and a big bug-like brute climbs out of the hole.

Everyone roll initiative and take a Charisma save (for once Alas is useful).

Don't worry, this is not meant to be a tough encounter

 

Rolled 20, I assume that I do that in the order you said, so 20 for the initiave.

And 1, so RIP the charisma save, Alas is going to pee on himself.
