*Heat's burned eye ignites*

Outside is a mess.

Pillars of living fire and moving earth are tearing down buildings. Weird toad-ish creatures are attacking people. Demons are tearing the streets apart. Ghouls are amassing at the north gate. The whole city is being ripped apart. The sky has turned blood red and jet black from ash, fire, and smoke.

The last defense stopping the undead threat from crossing the river has fallen.

How come EVERY village we visit gets destroyed the moment we want to leave?

Of course, Alas. The whole city is going to ruin and your first thought is "hmm, let's steal the criminal's gem horde"
