Hit 2: 14 + 2 + 2 = 18

Damage 1: 2 + 2 DEX = 4
Damage 2: 4 + 2 DEX = 6

Total Damage: 4 + 6 / 2 = 5 Slashing Damage. Editing it now.

It did not matter this time, but for future reference use each instance separately. So 4/2 and then 6/2. Not 10/2. This time it made no different, but it could with odd numbers

So as @Florfy5 attacks the weird he then needs to back away out of range, which he does.

However, this provokes an opportunity attack. 14 on the roll plus 5 to hit is a hit (I found it's stat block online)

It grabs Florfy and sucks it into itself, doing 19 bludgeoning damage. Kyelas is now grappled and restrained. On his turn he may make a DEX check to get out

Now it's it's turn and it squeezes Kyelas more and does 14 bludgeoning damage

It may have horrible range, but it's damage is high.

 

I try to grab Kyelas out of the grapple.

 

Done.

A grapple escape is DEX so I'm assuming pulling someone out would be the same

I guess I can throw in my OP Monk if Kyelas dies... It's fun just setting up a battle for myself and having him solo battles with a CR equal to his level :3
