*I look at the markings above the doors.*

 

I just try to see if I recognize any of the markings...

 

You pushed the button so you were at the bottom of the pile of people. You take one damage.

The markings above the doors seem to depict monsters.

One is a strange creature with a giant eye and smaller eyes on stalks around it. One is a person with no flesh. One is a person in the upper body and a lion in the lower body. One is a person with four tentacles coming from where the mouth would be.

I got an 8, 12, 2, and 1

With modifiers, it is 10, 14, 4, and 1.

14 + 1 = 15
17 + 1 = 18
8 + 1 = 9
9 + 1 = 10
(I have a +1 History mod.)

 

I am going to assume those are in the order I stated them.

The first one you have heard of, it's called a Beholder. You know nothing else.

The second is a picture of a skeleton. Bones held together by dark magic.

Third you have never seen before.

You have no clue what the last one is.

I check my notes for anything on them.

I read the book on the pedestal.

 

You open it and flip through the pages. All are empty except for the last page. It contains a single word.

"Beauty"

 

"A Beholder, A Skeleton... And this book says beauty... Any ideas, anyone?"

"The doors likely have something behind them, different for each door... But what?"

I look to see if there is anything on any of the doors themselves or something on the walls.

 

Theres no physical doors. It' just open doorways. But the torchlight from the door does not go through them, so it's just darkness.

 

"Did you see anything? I have torches and stuff."

 

"Try to light up the hallways for a bit, there could be clues down them."

 

The darkness seems to be magical, your torches fail to light the darkness (did you go past the door frame doing this or not? And if so, which door frame)
