Thaumaturgy can make fire do special things, but can not start it. Yevor has a spell that can start fire, so we can assume he would do that

 

Survival check: Rolled 7 +2WIS +2mod = 11

 

You find enough for a small campfire. Not very good for keeping warm, but enough for cooking

Can I do an investigation roll to see if the water from the river is drinkable (If I know there is a river) ?

 

The river is visible. There's a brick bridge going across it. There's also some snoring sound somewhere
