Not exactly.

Firstly, you can choose athletics or acrobatics, so STR or DEX.

Secondly, their 2d8 is damage, nothing having to do with checks. They also roll a d20 and add modifiers

the wisp rolled an 18. I made it very clear before that these guys have an insanely high DEX modifier, and a very poor STR one.

Force comes from things like magic missile and Eldritch Blast, and nothing is resistant to that.

The other one, I don't know if anyone actually has (anyone got chromatic orb?). One you hit level three you gain the ability to add it to your normal damage tho, so that's cool
