"Well I can tell you with 90% certainly that they aren't normal rats."
"Clearly, as some of them were undead... I don't see any evidence of a necromancer about, which leaves two possibilities: either that creature we slew was responsible for creating the undead rats, or the land here has become so corrupted by the plague that the dead rise again of their own accord."
The void retreats into Heat. Smoke billows from the smoldering armor but alas it seems as if nothing was there.
He tumbles down the slope to reveal the contents of the bag of enchanted goods.
The pure gold pile is, well, gold. The one with the blue and brown is gemstones. The one with the grey thing is magic items. Items are listed on the side.
Alas inspect the pile of gold, upon seeing there is nothing of interest, he goes into the back of the right cave to see if anything out of the ordinary appears.
Nothing super suspicious. Rocks and stuff
@Paradoxical was curious about the Ratoid abomination's room
It's got piles of skulls, mainly rat but a few humanoid, littering the ground
Alas : "Empty ..."
He goes back to the pile of gold, take the shoe of his bag and put has much gold in it as he can (He doesn't store it in his pouch)
I kneel down next to the skulls with a grimace.
"Who did you devour...?"
Can I identify anything about the humanoid skulls?
"That should do, for now. Can't really display anything anymore, but it keeps the weather out."
I move away from the skulls and back towards the center of the cave.
"It seems this abomination had been killing people and hoarding their belongings for quite some time. Unfortunately, I see little way we can ever return these treasures to their rightful owners, so I propose that we take them to further our cause. Though perhaps a portion of it should also benefit the farmer who had to suffer this thing infesting his land..."
they all seem to be deformed some way
After slinging the makeshift bag full of magical contents (I guess some things stick out of the bag, like the trident) Heat travels to the pile of art-ifacts, glancing unamusedly at Alas' quick reflex to loot immediately.
"If these items were not stolen by the undead's spawn from above-ground, they were brought here by unsuspecting persons. The skulls Erevan is inspecting lead me to believe the latter possibility is far from out of the question."
"What is our next course of action?"
(Just re-quoting this here because Erevan's answer to your question would probably be what he just said.)
“The jeweler's store was discovered to have been infiltrated and stolen from this morning. Although the young one, George, was the primary suspect I believe there to be a more discrete perpetrator responsible. Could it have been these undead's thrall?"
"Perhaps... though these exquisite items seem a fair bit more elaborate than what I saw in Roberts' shop. Still, we should ask."
Heat walks to the pile of gold and physically divides it in an estimate of the party's shares, taking his.
He starts towards the cave's entrance, not mentioning a word to another person.
"The worst is yet to come to us... and time is fleeting."
"Cleanse them all."
. . .
"Ready to set the world on fire? Hehehe.."
He exits the underground.
To be clear, how many shares did you divide it into?
Divided into 7 smaller piles, including Ti'Lin's. Now 6 since Heat removed his.
Erevan looks on in concern, but takes a share of his own. He then carefully packs up the art pieces into a bag, much like Heat did with the magic items, and exits the cave.
Alas looks at the piles, walking past it, he ignores his pile, only taking outside what he put in the shoe, for easier math, let's say it was 1/4 of my share.
