I have ten platinum coins I've been saving for a rainy day. I could give you that for the gem. But... I run a small shop in a small mountain village. The people here buy my cheap gems thinking they are worth something. I'd price your gem alone at 2,000 gold pieces, but I simply can't pay that much for it."

Heat seems reluctant to reply at first, but does so anyway. It seems to be an automated response prompted by him:

“I will live, it truly should not trouble you.”
He pauses, thinking for some time.
“I do not believe my internal environment can be accessed, either way.”

 

Ti'Lin writes this down on a piece of parchment.

"Do you think you can help with this, Maddie?"

 

He looks closley at the horn, not even noticing the mouthless person next to you

You see these runes around the banding? I'm no mage, but that's not any language I'm familiar with. Maybe it's enchanted?

"I don't think I can do anything about those internal components. But I could work on the outside a bit. It would take a while though... And I'm rather bu-... Wait! Linny! I've been working on a contraption of sorts. Just planning for now, but the real work starts tomorrow. I'll help your friend here for no cost, if you come back tomorrow and help me out!"

 

"Sure, but... don't you need any help now? You know, make things go a bit faster?"

 

"I'm good for now. Leave your friend here with me and I'll get him all patched up!"

"Maddie, how often do you have customers visiting your shop?"
