Heat stands and backs away from the bar.

If Ti’Lin is somewhere he can go (not a chamber), he finds him.
Heat: “You require the texts. For what reason?”

 

I'm just sitting in the inn, at a table.

"You know how each volume is written in a different language, correct?"

"So I was thinking. What better proof then to show instructions about the layout of the Skull and how to enter it. I need those volumes with me in order to translate them, as I assume the mayor does not speak all the languages that these books are written in."

 

Althiaos:"So here we are my home.."

He stops and stares before turning to face you

Althiaos:"This!"
He does a grand sweep of his hand gesturing at the house

Althiaos:"This is my legacy Ervan, ruin, fire, and destruction I'm no stranger to watching the world burn I've even struck the match a few times myself. Everywhere I go pain and destruction follow. Masin, Seneca, Here, There, you name it. I didn't care for awhile about it when I meet you in Seneca I had planned on robbing you."
His voice starts shaking "
"It's a plan I sometimes used to run, join a party, lie and act helpful, then rob em blind in the night and run. I'm sorry Erevan I truly am I... I..."
He pauses takes in a deep breath and continues
"I kept looking for a way out, a way to get away from you cut ties and run, but I kept making excuses for why I should stay. your little group had grown on me and even saved my life a couple of times. Then that doppelganger took me out. It was the chance I had been looking for a chance to cut and run. But when I tried to leave I couldn't do it. This is my legacy Erevan fire and death."
he goes quiet.
"And I don't want that. I joined looking for coin but I want to stay now. I want to kill Evile and save this land. I saw people die while I was looking for you saw them torn apart by this plague. I didn't realize what I was fighting for I understand now. I'm fighting to prove that this doesn't define me, I'm fighting to keep my friends safe and ultimately. I'm fighting to save people. And if I die for it, so be it. I wasn't using my life much for anything anyways. At least I die knowing that I saved a few whose lives matter."

Althiaos:"And honestly after all I've said?"
He's crying at this point.
Althiaos:"I just hope you'll let me keep fighting...."

 

Heat sits down across from you. His eyes, shining, focus on the scribbles you produce on the scroll.

“Someone told me once that trust is a two-way street. I do not exactly understand what a street is, yet. I understand the message still.” He pauses, looking down at a crack open in his chest, dim light escaping through it from the depths of his core. “I have learned that you cannot perceive things as they initially seem in many situations, especially amid chaos.” He stops once more, looking back towards the translation in progress. “As if that has not stuck thorns through my limbs thus far.. I simply advise you to be careful.”

 

"I'm sure I'll be fine. I've been with these people before, you see. I've helped them when I passed through here, I'm sure that help can be a counterweight against all the things that have been said earlier today."

 

Do I see any citizen doing stuff at night from here ?

You don't see anything through the rain

 

Alas (thinking) : "That's a thick rain."

 

It's not just rain, but also the fog and mist caused by it, as well it being nighttime

 

I just wanted to see someone meme about Alas saying the rain is thick. ;(

“I believe in your intentions.”
He’ll just watch as you translate, tired.

 

"How well do you know your body, Heat?"

"There are some parts here and there that can be repaired with magic, but some parts would need to be removed and repaired. Are you able to do such things? Remove plates and such?"

 

“The marvel of mechanical engineering and magic’s synergy is that most healing properties proven effective on other living creatures are also effective in repairing me.”
He doesn’t look as proud as it would seem while saying this, it’s something closer to disappointment.
“I cannot recall a time when I was required to be fixed by hand, especially not a removal of any plates or outer shell components. I imagine it isn’t comfortable. The core simply regulates everything, both internal and external.”

 

"Well.. I understand that magic can cure your wounds, but I doubt it can repair your outer shell. Like how scars work. The wounds close, but there is always a mark."

Ti'Lin reaches into his pouch and takes out two little pebbles. He places them between his fingers and places his hand on some of the small cracks and dents on Heat's body, still writing with his other hand. I cast mending on Heat.

"But of course, there is some magic that can take care of even those things in your case. Even if it's only for the smaller wounds."

It takes about a minute before the smaller cracks and dents close around the area where the hand is.

 

Heat looks down, slightly startled.
“I cannot interpret my impressions of magic. Should I despise it or be intrigued by its influence? It could very well be the world’s end someday, or it may be its salvation. Either way, I hope to not see it.”

“In any way, I thank you Lin. Hopefully I can find someone who can help me in the morning.”
