What happens if I die? Do I restart at level 1, because that would cause issues if everyone except 1 person is level 15.

 

At this point, you'd probably restart at level 1, but you might restart higher when we're stronger, such as a level 3 character at Level 4.

 

So we have 2 options: transfer xp or clear xp.

Transferring XP helps you stay with the party, and makes balancing easier. I know I have several characters made to start at level 2 or 3.

Or you could restart at level 1. This seems like a big deal, but it ain't. I had a level 1 character in a group of level 2s. Since it was balanced for level 2, everyone got enough xp for level 3, including me. So it's not too hard to gain levels.

Naturally if you are level 5 of above, I would recommend keeping XP. We can figure it out as we go.

BTW at level 2 you get Eldritch Invocations. There's some really good ones, but take what you want. My recommendations:

- Agonizing Blast increases Eldritch Blast damage

- Armor of Shadows makes your AC 13+DEX when not wearing armor, which is better than any light armor.

- Fiending Vigor gives temp hp, but you may not need that having your temp hp from kill

 

Considering how long it took to gain a level (we still haven't), I think I'll transfer.
