Redcloak: "Ha."
Redcloak points his finger at Althaios, who is suddenly engulfed in a noxious green cloud as purple light glows from Redcloak's medallion/lich phylactery/holy symbol. Constitution save.

Also, this spell is cloudkill. Althaios may be dumb, but he probably knows better than to mess with a 17th level death domain cleric, who is also the high priest of the god of goblins.

 

OOC Masamune: "Well, alright then. Suit yourself."
Death Battle: 13th level Mystic vs. 17th level Cleric

OOC Masamune fires an arrow at OOC Redcloak, spending 7 Psi on Speed Dart.
To hit: 11 + 4 DEX + 5 Prof = 20
Damage: 78 Psychic Damage

 

Redcloak: "Gah!"
Redcloak casts Plane Shift, going to the city of Gobbotopia on whatever plane Order of the Stick takes place on. There, he uses several healing spells.

 

If he comes back, OOC Masamune will use his reaction to use Psychic Domination to force a DC 18 INT save.

 

OOC Alek: "Masamune! It is not logical to try to win this fight on your own. Let me stand by you."

 

After healing spells, Redcloak readies an action to cast Implosion if Masamune or Althaios comes back. (Implosion is a 3.5e spell. CON save, with insta-death via implosion on a failure. Also, he can keep targeting multiple creatures.

Oh, and did I mention that he's working along side a LEVEL 22 sorcerer lich?

 

OOC Masamune: "It was just getting fun, but alright. Also, don't worry about dying, casting Revivify only costs me 7 psi."

 

Doesn't Revivify need a body to work, with no missing body parts?

 

Well, you're on another plane, so it's not like they'll come to you... And you're potentially walking into mind control if you return... Where Masamune can force you to cast implosion on yourself...

Like seriously, you can't use 3.5e spells in 5e game balance. The entire spell system had to be redone because of how stupidly broken 3.5e casters were, especially clerics.

 

I'd say Implosion wasn't as bad as Power Word Kill if there was an HP limit for it to work...

 

Redcloak: "Eh. I should really get back to advancing the comic plot line."
Xykon (the sorcerer lich mentioned before): "Finger of Death. There. Happy now?"

Pretty much. That said, this wasn't intended to be an actual fight.

Xykon's highest ability score becomes equal to his lowest, among other debuffs.

I forgot to mention that Alek is from a campaign in which Spyro is using homebrew, so he's not an official class.

What's Ray of Warping?

 

A spell for the homebrew Channeler class, which I'm using in Spyro's spelljammer campaign.

It's basically a gish class that actually integrates spells and melee effectively, rather than being heavily skewed towards one or the other *cough cough* Eldritch Knight and Bladesinger *cough cough*.

 

You failed the saving throw. DC 24. You take 53 necrotic damage.

12 + 9 (Charisma modifier) + 7 = 28

Legendary Resistance/10.

I'm not sure how to get magic and melee to work together that well without one complementing the other. Why swing a sword when you could shoot a fireball? Or are you just looking to use the sword once you run out of fireballs? In that case, just go with Bladesinger.

Also, did you roll to hit? Because AC 17 + Shield = you might not be as likely to hit as you had hoped.
