You plunge into the wall of fog, to find the next room fog-clear. Looking back reveals the doorway to the room you were in before filled with fog.

For reference of what I was doing, it's a fog of war style thing. Fog of war is a concept in games where you can't see the next area until you get there.

This specific example comes from a MOBA called Paragon. In the last major update, that added arches around the map willed with fog. It's difficult to see what's on the other side unless you pass through.

Ti'Lin: "Okay, is everyone in the room?"

 

Furry and Demonborn are there.

Angel and Shorty never technically entered the room.

 

I will enter, then.

Now everyone is in.

So if I remember correctly, it was a metal door, a rope hanging from the ceiling, a goblin statue holding a bag, and a square of wood on the floor

 

Ti'Lin: "Think we can lock pick the door?"
(If there's a lock to lock pick)

 

Alas : *Take out his tools.*

 

There's no visible lock on the door
